The "Official" Waiting for an Update Thread

Phone has been out for 6 months with no updates. Other phones are getting updated to 4.04 and they aren't even a Nexus.

Hopefully the 22nd will bring an update, my signal and 3g have been lacking lately...........and with no 4g around my area I have no idea how that is working.

I should have said....................The Verizon version has been out for 6 months with no update since release day.

By other carrier's versions getting updates, it proves that it's Verizon holding back updates.....not Samsung or Google.

I feel like Verizon's Network has actually been getting worse lately. I even downloaded the latest radios and still haven't seen improvement. It only seems to happen with this phone.

This is what's so frustrating for some. The Nexus' radios performance varies so greatly from user to user. I think the biggest contributor is where you live, followed by faulty radios in a limited number of devices.

I for one, have had an amazing experience with the radios on my Nexus - on all radio versions. I'm on the latest FC04/05 and they work perfectly. It helps that I live in a strong LTE metropolitan area. If you're in a weak 4G, or even a weak 3G area, you can't expect much, but if you're supposed to have good coverage and your Nexus is underwhelming, then your first option should be to demand an exchange. Verizon owes you that. If that doesn't work you either a) live with the Nexus as-is or b) Verizon will offer an alternate device and probably cut you with a RAZR.

Yeah, I tried that and they basically offered me a refurb Nexus. When the official OTA rolls out, I'll flash back to stock and play it their way and see what I can negotiate. I think there is a major glitch in the network within the Baltimore area, that is highlighted in a different thread. The store display and a friend with a Nexus that visited me here has the identical problem, but only in this area. Therefore, the only fix in my opinion other than fixing the network is to give me a Razr or Rewound.

:D ,he said Rewound.

Went to a verizon store today cause I am also experiencing bad 4g data connection. Phone works fine on CDMA, terrible on LTE/CDMA. Did a speed test before I went and 4g was getting .6Mbps down and .97 up. Guy at the verizon store replaced my 4g card and it seems to be working a lot better (still not great). Down now is 3.5Mbps and up is 2.78Mbps (and I know I am in a good 4g zone so these numbers should be much higher).

I also asked about the 4.0.4 update and he was surprised I didn't have it yet. Said I would get the OTA message soon (take that however you want).
