The "Official" Waiting for an Update Thread

not sure if its true or not but all this waiting i hope they give us something good and not have us wait all this time for nothing beter than what the devs are doing. Then again I bet a large percent of us would be happy with vzw/sammy just fixing the radios for us and send it so we can add it to our favorite rom.

BMX was right just off by a month :)

Huh? Gave first part of April as a date (that IS about a month assuming they will actually get an update out as it HASN'T happened yet) and said 4.0.5 which isn't even started yet (making the whole story a "Troller's pipedream")

I have spoken to many a tech flatulance and this one was typing away at her computer and all i heard on the other end was wow. She then said 16 issues are being fixed in an update after may.

I asked further about this so called update she told me I cannot give you exact dates or build numbers blah blah blah she was pretty adamant about not revealing too much.

She had in front of her the screen with all the release dates for all current devices. The RAZR, RAZR MAXX etc have a big update this month (probably ics).

It was a good convo. And I'm a very sceptical person. I can tell when its bull****. This was not that.

yeah they often sound legit lol

like the other poster said, they rarely (to never) have accurate info on OTA updates. I went through the moto bionic debacle with them (still trying to sell that piece o' crap lol)

OK now. We have passed the 2nd month waiting for this rumored update. I still am not convinced there is an update even in the works? Orrrr maybe it is being worked on by the same gal that coded the fascinate update. She went on maternity leave and the update was delivered 5 months from the original published release date. Or any other theories???

Well the 4.0.4 update hit a bunch of corporate devices a few weeks ago, and fortunately some people were able to pull that file. Yet it still hasn't even been pushed officially. So who knows if 4.0.5 is even still going to happen. While I try to not complain about this stuff, it is frustrating, especially when 4.0.2 has some serious bugs, for some users anyway. I've been running the 4.0.4 update and radios and it really helps quite a bit - with battery life, and signal stability. So I guess there's a light at the end of the tunnel...

By the way - is that maternity story true??

Its out there.I was reading Androidcentral or Androidcommunity, and someone said they got the update somewhere in NY.My inside tech man from VZW said somewhere around 22 and as we ALL know they never miss and their the first to know.

There was a soak test put out there last week or the week before for 4.0.4. There are links on Android Central and XDA with instructions to apply it even if you aren't rooted. If the soak goes well I'd expect to start seeing an OTA in the next week or so. My phone works with a couple minor annoyances so I've opted to wait for the OTA but if you are having major issues you can apply the update early and see if that helps.

Waiting also for OTA.I was being serious when I said the tech said around 22nd.

I'm tempted to put my Nexus back to stock for the update, instead of waiting for a ROM update...I dunno.......
