The Ultimate Droid 2.3.0 - All Devices - D1, INC, EVO 4G, Desire CDMA & GSM

Just loaded 2.3 and right off the bat don't see anything different... and what's this about gestures?... just wondering before I go snooping...

it's a pretty cool feature under input settings. you record gestures for any activity such as opening apps, direct dials, direct texts, maps etc, and from the lockscreen you can just make the gesture and the activity will load.

for example, you can draw a "U" and itll unlock your phone. Then you can remove the sliders at the bottom (also under input settings) and the only way to unlock it is to draw the "U"
Sounds cool... will take a look at that...thanks

You can set lockscreen gestures to open apps or unlock the phone, etc. For example, if you want to open the browser without unlocking the phone and having to select it, you can make a gesture for it such as B and while on the lockscreen you draw the letter B with your finger and it will automatically open the browser. If you want to disable sliders and use a gesture to unlock the phone such as U, on the lockscreen you have to draw the letter U to unlock the phone. Very nice feature. Hope I explained well enough

EDIT: Didn't see that post^

No problem. There may be a fix for it but I don't know of one. And not exactly. Luigi made one for me as a metamorph theme that works on any ROM. So, when I flash, I just apply it real quick and that's that. Takes about 10 seconds to install so it doesn't bother me to install it every flash. If you want, I can provide a link to it for you.

Sure, that would be great. I'll give it a try. Just flash it as a .zip in recovery?

Here is the link: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service. And no. You have to download Metamorph from the market (it's free). Once you download that and everything it will place a folder on your SD card named AndroidThemes. Mount your phone and place the .zip inside the AndroidThemes folder. Then, you open up Metamorph, run the checks that it prompts on every startup, and then click extract new theme(something along those lines), bottom left button. You'll go to the REVOlution.zip file and click it. It will do it's thing and probably say that it wasn't written correctly but it still does what it needs to do. Then go and click the other button(existing theme) and it will open the folder, click REVOlution again and it will show a file named REVOlution icon.xml or something like that, click on that one and install. It will have a green M next to the .xml file.

EDIT: It will ask you to reboot, which is normal. Once the phone reboots the change will be made.

Got it to work, awesome, and thanks. Although it looks like the percentage isn't quite centered correctly. It appears that it is a bit to the right...is this normal?

Yeah I just set the gestures and disabled lock sliders... and on my first attempt to use a gesture to unlock....bootloop... this was with 2.3 installed over 2.1 without wiping...

No problem! Hmm, I've actually never used the percentage on this before but I just checked it out and I'm not quite sure why it is to the right like that. I'll work on a fix. It might be because it isn't the default battery icon so the ROMs battery percentage doesn't match that of the icons placement like it would if it were the stock battery. I can try swapping out some .png's and repacking it though. Then you won't have to select the percentage from the settings, it will be default. (And centered)

Yeah I just set the gestures and disabled lock sliders... and on my first attempt to use a gesture to unlock....bootloop... this was with 2.3 installed over 2.1 without wiping...

I've seen some posts about multiple people having that problem. I didn't have it but I came from a clean wipe so that could easily be why there weren't issues

Well I'm reapplying 2.3 without wiping and will try again... if it bootloops again am going to wipe and install. If wiping resolves that issue then BD should let users know.

Well can't reapply 2.3 now unless I wipe... that's crappy... wiping now...

I just put this on my phone and WOW, AWESOME!!! My question is can I use themes for 2.1 on this 2.3? Or are there themes for 2.3?

That would be really awesome. Let me know when you've got it. Thanks a million!

Sorry, man!

There is a thread for themes. None, as far as I know, have been ported yet.
