The Ultimate Droid 2.3.0 - All Devices - D1, INC, EVO 4G, Desire CDMA & GSM

It looks like the stock kernel (for the D1) is a Sapphire kernel. So should we use other Sapphire kernels if we want to clock higher?

What kernels are you all having best luck with? I tried Chevy No1's newest and the phone was almost unusable. I will try LF Slayher 1100 now.

my unlock sliders worked in the nightly builds from night before last. but on 2.3 my messaging slider does nothing. my phone slider goes to phone so it must be something else

edit== nvm, the new rom has a feature to setup what app to open on the messaging slider.. duh. So far rom has been phenomenal with the compcache kernels. Only funny thing is when i receive a call the answer slider is a little off to the left. no big deal just a bug i found.

in input settings, where you turn the sliders on and off is an option to set messaging slider. click it and set it to your messgaing app. can actually set anything to that slider that you want to :)

Everyone is going to tell you to use either a chevy or slayher kernel, but I encourage you to be different try a jdlfg kernel. I have mine set at 1 ghz, and it runs perfect. Best battery life in my opinion also. Sapphire was also nice for me, but jdlfg just seems to be the best.

I decided to go with that because chevy gave me freeze ups and slayher gave me terrible battery life. Good luck with whichever you decide and what works best for you.

Ahh, I figured out the lockscreen gesture bootloop issue. If you try to remove the lockscreen sliders with the rotary lockscreen in place, it will bootloop. I put the stock lockscreen back on and then removed sliders, no bootloop!

Well nemets88 had a good point haha. I suggest trying the LFY Slayher kernels. I'm running the 1Ghz right now and it's amazing. I tried jdlfg once and it said I had no battery, as in it was outlined in red completely empty even though I was fully charged. Sucks because I was curious to see how that ran for me. You can also try P3Droid kernels. They're pretty good Imo.

Nice find... come to think of it, I did have the rtary slider on when it bootlooped, but not after I wiped and tried again... should re[port it as a bug

I guess each phone really does handle them differently. The majority of people say slayher and chevy, so I feel like an outcast cuz my phone doesn't like either of them. Lol. And good point, some people recommend P3 kernels, and that is one that I have yet to try...
