Question: I am getting a control file missing error on metamorph, Haven't seen any one having this issue. Is there a reason i would be getting this error. I have tried dl the file on computer and coping it to phone, and have also dl the file directly on my phone and either way i get the error. I do have usb debugging on, so don't know why this is happening. Any thoughts?

Tell me EXACTLY what you are doing with the file after you DL it to your Phone.... step by step.

I have the same issue.

My X is rooted. I do have MetaMorph installed. I run metamorph and choose the 928DroidBlackGlassX-DroidX-UpdateZIP.zip and choose unzip/extract new theme. It starts to work and gives me the Theme you selected is invalid because the theme control file be missing.

How do I fix this? I've tried rebooting, dl to comp and transfer to phone, dl directly to phone, same issue.

Unless I'm mistaken, the update.zip is to be used through recovery, using koush's DX Bootstrapper to access clockworkmod recovery. Which would explain why there is a missing control theme file: it's not meant to be used with MetaMorph.

search the market for "Droid x bootstrap" Then place the theme.zip in your root. Run the bootstrap app and reboot. You will then have to use your volume buttons to navigate to the correct option. Something like update from sd card or something. and then you have to find the zip file that this them is name. Use the camera button to select options. Thats all there really is to it.

You also have to be rooted. You can get the one click rooter while your waiting...

Just tried the new update.zip version and it was just like on my Droid!! LOVE IT!! Can't wait to see what the future holds now that we have access to loading ROMS

Is there a way I can go back to stock theme without having to use Koush recovery? I never installed it and I would like to not have to so I can update to the 2.2 leak without going through the logwrapper issue

Also im using the first version of the blackglass Droid X theme

I will give you one guess on that answer...

BUT, since this Froyo leak is Odexed (the stock software was DeOdexed) there will be some limitations until I make or get a custom DeOdexed ROM version.

#1 - Can't change the Staus Bar Clock color -- I have a work around on this as used in Droid Odexed ROMs, basically there will be a "grey translucent box for the clock.

#2 - The "Verizon Wireless" display when you pull down notification also cannot be changed-- text will be blakc on black.

#3 - Same goes for Date when you pull down the notification.

HOWEVER, there are some positives...with 2.2 I can now use some of my special "Black Edition" 2.2 apps. These are custom "inverted" backgrounds/text apps.

AND...I can also get you the new Gmail 2.2.1 a much improved version of the current Gmail app (not sure if it is in the update, but doubt it)

Plus some other 2.2 goodies.

Things will be quiet for me here the rest of the day... tons to get down.

WIll post when I have something ready...could be tonight..but maybe tomorrow.

I figured the answer was yes, but I thought it would be a bit rude to post "yo, the leak is out already, where's my freakin' update?" lol

Actually, it's not even my phone, it's the husband's. Somebody tell me why, when he's getting a PhD in aeronautical engineering, I end up doing the hacking on both of our phones Aren't most of you guys out there in charge of hacking?

Also, I saw on the clockworkmod twitter that koush is updating the bootstrap app to work with the leak, so you should be able to install it without any hassle using koush's recovery.

Alright, so I rooted using Gui one click method, I themed using metamorph, it kicked me out of the google servers. I went "back to stock" with the same metamorph, and I am able to log into google now, but I have black on black buttons on some apps like maps that I don't remember being there. I may be paranoid, but the "stock" seems a little different and buggier. I would really like to install this new froyo leak, but when I start looking at sbf and what not, I get a little intimidated. I am sort of wishing now that I would have left my phone alone, especially with this theme. Can anyone give me any advise? What could I do to put my phone truly back to stock and then try this new froyo method? I would feel better if someone could just tell me that a noob like me could bring my phone back from a brick if I totally blow it. Thanks in advance.

trying to do the same thing... 928 back to stock doesn't work due to the fact that it drops you back to the first firmware that came out for the X not the needed 604

Also tried to use Fabulous back to stock but that didn't help either

Wish someone had a stock update.zip I could load to get me back to stock 604

You should be ok with Fabulous back to stock update.zip if you're on 604 it should work for you after that
