I'm having some difficulties with installing themes on my Droid X running Apex 1.3.1. When running the base Apex 1.3.1 I have no issues at all, however when I install *any* of the themes in this thread I get a really annoying issue where I now have multiple messengers on my phone which I believe to be the cause of the primary issue. I have regular messaging (the kind of folder-esque icon which then would normally redirect me to the app Text Messaging, which is fine), an application by the name of 'Messaging' (the default text client renamed), and an application by the name of Text Messaging (the default text client). I prefer Chomp SMS as my default SMS program, so that is installed as well.
The issue that has come up with every theme here is that when I get a text message I get 2-3 copies of it. Note: this is not the notifications that I'm talking about, each of the default text programs has had their settings edited to not show notifications and not to auto-retrieve. What I mean is when I look at any of the apps (Messaging, Text Messaging, or Chomp SMS) there is 2-3 copies of each text received at the same time. This is true regardless of whether I personally send myself a text, or if someone else sends me a text. Verizon's website advises that I am not being sent multiple copies, so my phone is simply downloading and interpreting the texts as multiples.
I've tried going through the Terminal Emulator thinking that would solve the issue by working with the Messaging script, however I get an error each time I try to use the function generally saying "Permission Denied" or "No such file or directory" on Messaging.bak / Conversations.bak / Mms.apk.
In terms of how I have been installing them I've been using the Droid X Bootstrapper Recovery tool to install from zip after the ROM has already been installed. I do go to settings > apps > manage and uninstall any updates to 'market' or 'google search' prior to doing it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated with this. So far I've loved the rom and I would love to further customize it with themes that suit my personal taste.
