Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 8.0.0 - Droid

No phone icon/browser icon here either...

I will wipe data/factory reset... Then wipe cache partitions, and see how it goes...

Seems like im having the same issue.. thought i was tripping earlier today when i did the first install.. backed up..wiped factory, wiped cached.. installed ud8.. just did it about 10 minutes ago and same results.. no default icon for phone/browser on home screen.. now unless im totally tripping these were part of ud7 and maybe im missing a setting to turn these on?? Other than that my apps came back from google and it runs smoothly and cool w/ the chevy 1.0 LV kernel..Any ideas??

What I have done is switched back to my own custom froyo launcher by request. :) you can add up to 4 custom shortcuts down there. Just press the all apps button to open the launcher and drag an app onto one of the glowing white dots. and if you do the same thing but hover over the trash can instead, it will give you the option to do a quick uninstall from there :)

Howdy gang (welcome back BD!)

Question, if most of my apps (102 of 138) are installed to my SD, what is the best way to back-up and restore?

Everything I've tried in the past puts apps internally and I run out of space in a hurry. I have TBU but i can't seem to get it to work right.

I haven't wiped since UD 5 and I really want to, but the thought of spending hours manually reinstalling apps turns me off.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Am I the only one with this issue?

Has anyone been able to use bluetooth dialing? When I press the button on my headset, it brings up the voice dialer, but I get nothing in my headset, just like Android 2.1 used to operate.

I've tried doing this with Titanium Backup and I make sure I select force to location or whatever it is, but it never installs anything to my SD card.

Question about the site that's hosting this file (source forge) why does it say the file is 75.4MB and after download the zip file is only 73.562MB ????

Exactly! I've tried it every which way and my re-install always fails due to not enough space.

There has got to be a way.

Anyone?

This will be my first attempt at installing a different ROM, but what better one to start with than this one. At least from what I've read so far.
So I'm pretty sure of the proceedure for SPRecovery so do I
First wipe data factory reset then wipe cache then do the install ?
Everyone seems to be saying to do each 3 times, is this the Proceedure to follow ???
Hope I don't need it but I have all my stuff backed up with Titanium Backup...

It's recommended to wipe 3 times just to make sure all is formatted. I do this all the time.

I realize that I am a complete and utter idiot when it comes to this stuff, and I apologize for the noobish question..

this will install over android 2.1, or do you have to be running android 2.2? or does it not matter?

I am successfully rooted on 2.1, I was using smoked glass v5.0.1 but this seems a lot nicer and want to switch over.

I unrooted to 2.1 to throw froyo on my phone, but now I'm wondering if that was even necessary to run this rom?

again, I apologize for the noob-ness.

Wow! This Rom is sweet. I put a Chevy ULV 1.25 kernel in and got a 1588 in the quadrant. Not too shabby. Very responsive, loads of options. Installed the Smoked theme, very nice!!

LoL... all of us are going thru a learning process here. Since you are already rooted. Download the rom, rename it to update. Put it on the SD card. Reboot into SP Recovery and flash the same way you flashed smoked glass. If you need additional instructions let us know.:)

just make sure you save the file on your sd card in the root and save it as update thats all it will automatically be named the .zip itself... once you get into sprecover i hope you know the whole hold x thingy by now..get in there and then wipe data and cache about 3 times say then hit install allow update.zip then install.zip depractated i think it says i hope this helps
