If you want the stock kernel then I would just flash UD 8.0.0 without a wipe. That should effectively replace your kernel and keep your settings. If you have a theme you'll have to flash that again of course.

can do that or in ud 8 zip delete the system folder, leave the meta and boot img and just flash that.
or take a chevy or cvpcs kernel zip and replace there boot.img with the one from ud 8.
Good to know. Thanks RafficaX.
I have one MINOR thought on your lock screen, I LOVE the rotary lock screen I think you should port it for use with other roms, but BEFORE you do PRETTY PLEASE and with SUGAR on top, add a charging section so when I am charging and on the lock screen it will display the percentage of the charge and when it reaches 100% it says charged, my charging jack is a little f.u.b.a.r.ed and I heavily relied on the "charging" on the lock screen to make sure my Droid's going to charge, other than that... DUDE EFFING AMAZING, love the rom, today's the first day I've started using UltimateDroid and I must say WOW I'm impressed
Yea I noticed this too on UD8... when I plug in my charger while on lock screen it doesn't say charging until I power off the screen and come back to the lock screen..... same goes when u unplug the charger on lock screen, it will still say charging while its unplugged
For me its nothing big but if ur having charger issues I could see it being a little annoying

I will wipe data/factory reset... Then wipe cache partitions, and see how it goes...
Seems like im having the same issue.. thought i was tripping earlier today when i did the first install.. backed up..wiped factory, wiped cached.. installed ud8.. just did it about 10 minutes ago and same results.. no default icon for phone/browser on home screen.. now unless im totally tripping these were part of ud7 and maybe im missing a setting to turn these on?? Other than that my apps came back from google and it runs smoothly and cool w/ the chevy 1.0 LV kernel..Any ideas??
What I have done is switched back to my own custom froyo launcher by request. you can add up to 4 custom shortcuts down there. Just press the all apps button to open the launcher and drag an app onto one of the glowing white dots. and if you do the same thing but hover over the trash can instead, it will give you the option to do a quick uninstall from there
Much appreciated. How do I get the music buttons on the lockscreen like they are on the preview screenshots?
Go to settings, Ultimate Droid, Input Settings and check mark Lockscreen music controls and if you want, Always display music controls
[FONT=arial, verdana, tahoma, sans-serif]Customizable lockscreens: (make lockscreen part invisible, remove certain elements, and add custom messages)
Where are the above settings found?

i'm a noob...:frown: pls help!!?? how do u install??
i have been running this for 2 days and still keep finding new features. i really like it... i did end up uninstalling juice defender i was getting lag, and when uninstalled problems disappeared but battery life has been great actually without it. my droid hasnt even been running hot with alot of use using stock kernel... it seems ud gets dogged alot on other forums and what not but his work is really good....

I did the same. Gonna see how my batt life is now.
What kind of hours are you getting usage-wise?
Agreed!! dancedroid
I'm running ChevyNo1 250-1250MHZ Low Voltage 7-Step kernel, SetCPU set to min-250/max-1250 ondemand, no profiles; runs a little over 1500 on quadrant setup this way, 1700+ if I set to performance. I get 10-12 hours of heavy, heavy, heavy usage (installing/uninstalling apps, playing music, using navigation, screen on the whole time, running benchmarks, basically messing with the phone for the whole 10-12 hours). Regular use I get about 24+hours (1-2hrs talking, 25-50 messages, 5-10 emails, 15-30min web browsing, 15-30min video, 15-30min navigation, 1-2hrs music/internet radio, couple benchmarks).
