Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 8.0.0 - Droid

That's odd, I'm having the best performance in that aspect.

Which launcher are you using? Try ADW. I was using LauncherPro on BB before, and it would redraw almost every time. ADW doesn't do any of this, or does it so infrequently I don't notice.

agreed adw has been way better on my droid than lp.. redraws have been minimal

Must depend on the droid, my LauncherPro is working extremely smooth with UD 8 and Perfect Smoked Glass (stock kernel 800 mhz)

I have yet to try ADW with UD 8 but I did install it on my wife's phone. I use LP and I am trying very hard to make it work. I have made every edit I can but the lag is so insance it almost makes me laugh. You know what I mean.. when you get so frustrated you just start tapping on the screen and say come on you mo********er!

I have (I firmly think) found the culprit. No idea how to fix it though.

I use a Motorola stereo headset for hands free calling. So it has seems to me that when using bluetooth (the patch BD made, cause before it was fine except, no handsfree) the phone bogs down. Now, like today when I forgot my headset, I turned bluetooth off. Phone still lagged so I turned the phone off and pulled the battery. Once I got back up and running, everything worked fine again until I got home and turned bluetooth back on.

Does this rom overclock your cpu by default? If so does anyone know to what? Is it 800MHZ? Or you just have to install a custom kernel to overclock it? Also is there only certain kernels that work with this rom or in theory all of them should work?

I installed setcpu to overclock the stock ROM, it works great, have't felt the need to install a custom kernel yet.

i reflashed this rom following the advice of xkape in using the fix permissions (my fc) and that seemed to work, been running it again for a few days with 928 black glass theme and i am loving it, i have tried them all and i am happy that i am able to be back to this one........

No matter what rom I try I seem to always restore to my backup I made before flashing and come back to this rom. This rom has way more user friendly functions and does not require me to have to use a terminal to do task or enable a setting unlike most of the roms out there. I had issues before when I first started out a month ago. This is my first rom and looks to be my last.

Quick question: every time i change wallpapers i have to reboot my phone in order to see the change. is this the way its supposed to be? just wondering...

Are you using launcherpro? I was having this issue using one of chevy's kernels. Switched to a P3 kernel and the wallpaper started taking effect immediately.

I am currently STOCK 2.1 .. I just SBF Flashed back from 2.2 ROOT. I have One Click Easy Root, ROM Manager, and BootStrap. I started Fresh from 2.1 So I could get Step by Step Instructions from the guys that have been doing this for awhile. Again appreciate the help guys, and Have a great night! :motdroidvert:

Even though I have "show custom message" checked and a custom message entered in, my custom message is not showing on the lockscreen. How do I get it to show?

You can try a reboot...I can't even find this option, I would be interested in knowing where it's located ?
