Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 8.0.0 - Droid

It would have to be installed on the phone if you were using it I would think. If it's on the phone, it's accessible.

I already tried "stock"... it's the standard Android OS font.

I've tried them all, and none of them are it. I'm pretty sure I just found an oversight...

I'm tempted to wipe and reinstall if that's the case.

EDIT:
I've settled on the last font option, entitled "Zegoe". For those of you who think the original UD8 font is nice but difficult to see when small, Zegoe is a similar font but much easier to read.

Still haven't figured out how to get the original font back, though.

Well I'm glad you found a font you liked... I really never thought to go back to default font in UD settings... I've liked Ming font from the first time I loaded UDv7 fulltime...:)

I'm looking at the stock fonts compared to the default font on the UDv8 ROM... and it looks like the same to me Bro...

When i try to install the adw or launcherpro from UD settings i lose my home screen...it just becomes a black screen....i wipe data/cache and reinstalled it three times and it does the same thing....Any ideas

try installing from the market maybe that may help you cause i have them both and they both work great

When you say 'stock fonts', do you mean mean the UD8 font option entitled "stock"? If so, it's not the same as the default UD8. The "stock" option is plain ol' Android OS font.

Keep in mind, the new font won't show up in all areas of the UI until you reboot; that might be why it appears the same to you.

Does anyone know if "God Mode" would be useful for finding the UD8 font?

The fonts listed and installed on UD in the fonts folder as as follows...

clockopia.ttf
DroidSans-Bold.ttf
DroidSans.ttf
DroidSansArabic.ttf
DroidSansFallback.ttf
DroidSansHebrew.ttf
DroidSansMono.ttf
DroidSansThai.ttf
DroidSerifBold.ttf
DroidSerifBoldItallic.ttf
DroidSerif-Italic.ttf
DroidSerifRegular.ttf

There, I saved everyone the trouble. The font you are looking for is one of those. Most likely would be clockopia.

Alternatively (and I've never tried this so if I am wrong someone let me know) you could find any Tru Type Font (.ttf) you want from the internet and put it on the Droid.

Update:
I got it installed by using ROM Manager to "install ROM from SD card".
I also installed mine with ROM Manager with no problem.
I did wipe a couple of times.
What I do see now is that ROM Manager says UD 8 does not do OTA updates.
Is this normal for UD or is it something that needs to be fixed?

That is a cool idea, i might give that a shot.

Is that really all we need to do to add fonts? For some reason I thought it was so much more complicated

It probably is more complicated, I just had a thought and thought it may work. I'd make a backup 1st but, I'd do that even if I knew it worked.
