So your saying that if I use rotary lockscreen I can't change my carrier banner? That's incorrect. I can edit the eri.xml file to say anything. I can still use that with rotary.

You need a hex editor to edit eri.xml which is located in framework-res.apk

Not if you are just changing the banner name. It's a little more complicated and time consuming (hours) (unless you already have all the stuff you need installed and setup/saved (5-10 minutes)). UD8.0 makes it a little more challenging too because stock it comes themed with the great and wonderful 9png files.

To go into detail would require a thesis length writeup. It would be far far easier to request someone (who has the tools and the files) to do it for you and hope they are kind enough to help. After this weekend (because I should hopefully finally have the time to do it) I could do it for you if you are running the stock UD8 theme or one of the Glass themes.


If you are running a different theme, I would ask that themer if he/she would be so kind as to edit the eri.xml file for you to say what you want it to say.

hours? no way. I changed mine in about 2 minutes. in fact i metamorphed the change and have the metamorph on my SD card so whenever I upgrade my UD I just metamorph it again. it's actually pretty simple.

If all that was already done and I had a template just sitting on my desktop (which I will after the weekend) that I could just quicly decompile, edit, recompile, sign and email to someone then yes, just a couple minutes.

oh ok, i was just talking about UD8. Once you download it and install it, it's a two minute process to change the eri.xml with metamorph. but yeah, creating a ROM from source would take hours I imagine haha

I'm looking at the stock fonts compared to the default font on the UDv8 ROM... and it looks like the same to me Bro...

When you say 'stock fonts', do you mean mean the UD8 font option entitled "stock"? If so, it's not the same as the default UD8. The "stock" option is plain ol' Android OS font.

Keep in mind, the new font won't show up in all areas of the UI until you reboot; that might be why it appears the same to you.

Does anyone know if "God Mode" would be useful for finding the UD8 font?

Well if I have been changing my font to Ming, I would obviously know that a reboot is needed for the font change to take...NO?...lmao:dry:

Well it looked the same to me when comparing it to the screenshots on the UDv8 release thread... perhaps not..... and not sure where you got thinking GodMode would help? ...like as if it shows hidden options in settings that's not showing now??...

I am lost. Something in my apps restoring is causing bootloops??
ROM loads and synchs fine and then won't reboot. Any apps that are known to cause loops?
