Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 8.0.0 - Droid

Coming from BBV0.4 and really liked the BB Tookkit app that had script helper, etc. Does UD have anything like this? I cannot find any scripts for this ROM. Also cannot seem to get the Built-In Applications section of the UD settings to do anything. I've tried removing stock apps, installing some others, nothing happens. Am I missing something with this ROM? Thanks!

market.......

OK so you wiped the phone x amount of times, installed UD 8.0 thru SPRecovery and let the market redownload your apps? I don't know man... list your apps (yep, lot of typing by you) and I will see if I can help.

I tried that in the built in applications section of the settings but nothing happens. Am wondering if I'm missing something in the settings.

This is one of tose times where I wish u were in my living roon and I could do it or you.. :)

This is my second install of UD 8.0; this time I did the following three times:
1. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
2. Format Boot
3. Format System

I downloaded the install file from (? - I'm old and can't remember) somewhere on this site. It was installed using Clockwork. This time it took forever to install my apps, and it only missed a few - no big deal.

Here's my problem: EACH time I either reboot or copy files to/from my device while attached to my desktop, LauncherPro acts very squirrely in that it has a FC issue. If I close it out, all is well, but none of the widgets work. I have to drag them to the trash and start all over again. It took me a while to put everything on my screens just the way I like it so I always restore the data, too.

I've been thinking about completely uninstalling LauncherPro and starting fresh - do you think that will help?

With a reboot, I have to manually fire up Weather Bug.

Here's what I'm running:
UD 8.0
Baseband version: C-0.3E.03P
Kernel version: 2.6.32-ulowV-1.1Ghz
chevy01@ubuntu-froyo #3
Build number: FRG22D

I don't know what else to include in this post. Thanks in advance for your help.

Ultimate Droid does NOT support clockwork mod. (Long story) In rom manager near the bottom is an option to flash alternate recovery. Do this two times then place the rom in the root of your SD card. Rename to update.zip (making sure it's not update.zip.zip) Reeboot in recovery. Wipe data and cache a few times the cache partition a few times too. Allow update zip then install update zip. Reboot. Enjoy. I don't know where cm gets their roms from but alot of problems stem from using rom manager to install bd's roms. I've been using ultimate roms since march and have not had a single problem with them. Try this method and see if it helps.

I would make sure that any app with a widget is not installed to the sd/card, click menu/settings/Applications/Manage applications/Weather Bug and see if the option of move to phone is there. If it only says move to SD card then that is not the problem. The only other thing I can think of is try using Chevy01 med voltage 1.0 Ghz kernel until you can sort out the problem. It may be the ulv kernel you are using doesn't have quite enough power to run your phone. I'd use the higher voltage kernel to get everything running right and then try lower voltage and or faster kernels and see what your phone likes.

Thanks for the replies; that means a lot to me. @TexasRules777: After following your suggestion, I was unable to get SPRecovery to mount the SD Card even after several attempts.

While in SPRecovery, however, I wiped a few times then rebooted. I'm manually repopulating my LauncherPro desktop now.

Don't know why the SD card wouldn't mount - I even went into one of the sub-menus and mounted it, then tried to install the update.zip again with absolutely no success at all.

don;t need to mount the SD card,, if you are in SPRecovery, you can "enable USB something something".. (sorry, pulling from my memory here). It will then link up to your computer.
In order to install the update.zip 1) YOU NEED TO be running SPRecovery and not CLockWorldMod..2) it needs to be update.zip not update.zip.zip (common prob).. 3) you must selecy "allow update.zip" before you "install" update.zip

OK, thought I should just throw this out there as well... this won't work unless update.zip is on the root of your SD card.. In other words, it's not in any folder at all.
