yeah rebooting is the only way it does change for me. which is not that big of a deal because i don't change my wallpaper very often, but i'll mess around in there and see if i can figure it out. thanks for your help!

Still Get Bootloop, I Wiped Caache Then Installed, But I Havent Wiped Data.

To get rid of the phone number you need to call Verizon and have them assign the phone to a different number.
Just my 2 cents on this Rom ...I have been very loyal to the cyanogen roms and i wanted to see what all the hype was about and in my opinion there pretty much the same, but UD8 is alot faster and smoother . Also the script features are a bonus! Plus UD rom comes pre themed. So to me this rom is a upgraded CM rom..very impressed. As far as installation i just downloaded it and ran clockwork ..i wiped data and cache 3-4 times and installed 1000mhz kernel but that kernel seem to to suck the life out of my battery and it also caused my phone to lock up. So i installed p3 LV1000 kernel and all is well..I got a 1421 quadrant score on my first try! I also went withthe pre theme. The only issues i have found with this rom is that it does a while to lock in on your GPS location and sometimes the 3g drops to 1x but pops right back to 3g. Im looking foward to giving UD9 a shot when it is relesed!

Try using a lower speed kernel with chevy. I use a 1.1 med voltage throttled to 1000. My phone just bootloops with it set higher.
Mine runs flawlessly with Chevy LV 1.1
I always use the Chevy 1.0 Med Voltage kernel to get it running and experiment with others from there.

Can anyone shed any light on the issues we are having with getting stuck at the boot animation after rebooting? I've tried flashing at least 20 times with up to 10 wipes and cache clears each time, tried both restore options, 3 different kernels (including the stock one) etc... every time it boots up fine the first time, but when I try and reboot it gets stuck at the boot animation. I've asked on multiple forums and no one has an answer but there are a bunch of us having the issue.
I've tried with both 8.0 and 8.1...

As for what I'm trying to do - I've been trying to load the UD extreme 8 coming from CM6. I tried doing with sprecovery, and also clockwork mod recovery. I've tried it through ROM manager and also from the boot menu itself. I've tried wiping data/cache and factory reset/wipe up to 10 times each before flashing the ROM. Each time I can get it load the ROM the first time, then after I try and reboot the phone it gets stuck at the boot animation. I've tried running fix permissions before the reboot, letting it sit for an hour before rebooting, loading a kernel that I know works on my phone before reboot...
The problem is that I'm not the only having this issue, but no one seems to have any ideas on why. I've never had any issues loading any other ROM, my phone actually plays nice with just about anything I throw at it.
