Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 8.0.0 - Droid

I would say (and I don't know why and I don't know for sure) that since the prolem only happens for you.. what's the one difference between all our phones... what we put on the SD card. Perhaps there is something on your SD card that isn't playing nice with UD. To test that, if you want to, I would move everything on my SD card over to the computer except the UD8.0rom.zip file. I would then wipe the data and cache again and try reinstalling. Then try to reboot and see if it hangs. Stock kernel, no theme, etc..

I loved the 8.1 ROM after install, but on my first boot it looped as well. I was coming here to try 8.0 to see if that was the problem. I guess not ...

Where did this 8.1 come from? It is not a Froyo 2.2 release that I have seen.

So, which files do I absolutely have to keep on my SD Card to do this? I'm afraid if I remove all the files on there and it fails again that I won't be able to re-flash back to CM6.

In that case, just keep CM6 on your SDcard, but put it in some obscurely named file like sd:\myoh$hitbackup\"cm6 file"

You can still browse to it if you end up needing to restore to it.

Honestly, I don't think it's your SD card. I think you need to flush out CM6 and put a stock Froyo version on it - then flash to UD. But, that's just my humble opinion, which doesn't mean much around here. hehe Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

You want a working CM6 backup on your phone? The keep the "nandroid" folder. Or wherever your backups are stored at. Just keep that file on the phone and the ud8.0.zip file named "update.zip" on the root of your SD card. This would be for using SPRecovery.

rwking, correct me if I am wrong here but, wiping the phone to a factory reset will put the stock ROM on the phone.. Or, revert the phone to stock factory settigns. If so, he has done that, just.. never tried to actually boot it.

Ah, yeah I suppose you're right. :) Well why not try to boot it after the factory reset? I mean, I'm not expert ( by any means ) but it just seems unlikely that the problem is the SD card. Have you encountered this before xkape?

I *could try that but I'm not sure it will work. I can flash this ROM and boot up successfully one time. I can leave the phone running and everything works great. The problem comes when I try and reboot after the ROM has been booted up initially. I don't see why it would be running then get stuck when rebooting. It's a very strange issue and unfortunately I'm not the only one having it.

nope, not with this ROM. I have seen some people with the issue using BB 0.5 but that's a whole new ballgame.

wazzlelby.. do you change anything at all once booted?

Not a thing. I've let it sit for almost an hour to make sure everything was synced and settled in, but as soon as I reboot - FAIL.... Guess this just wasn't meant for me to run. :icon_evil:
