Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 8.0.0 - Droid

Great rom, one question.

Where is this feature/setting? I scrounged though all settings and can't seem to find it at all. I saw the one to add a custom message, but it doesn't show at all on the screen. Making part of the screen invisible, I can not find. Nor any configuration for it.

step 9 finished

I'm completely new to custom roms and had no success on installing this one. Where could I find specific steps for installing on FRG22D?

Noob here, but learning quick. I read an earlier post of someone having the same problem I have and it sounded like he just gave up. But I really like the way this ROM looks so I want to try and fix it. Coming from Shadow running a P3lv900 kernel and using SPRecovery follow your instructions (including the wipey wipey 3 times) everything boots fine the first time and all of my apps are reinstalled. If I reboot immediately after this without making any changes or applying any themes, I loop at the ultimate droid screen. I've flashed stock prior to as someone suggested, I've deleted applications like setcpu prior to as someone suggested and I've run BD's fix permissions program prior to rebooting, no luck. I've flashed UD8 and setup the phone using a new gmail account and it reboots perfect every time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I flashed using rom manager (yes with ud8.0), worked great for me....

The only odd thing is once I "found" the UD8.0) I downloaded from sourceforge using rom manager's "install from sdcard", rom manager autodownloaded a "UD8.1"? from sourceforge.

Weird.
Nevermind, it just downloaded the same file, its named UDextreme 8-1.0.0.zip

I read that if you bypass the little green droid activation at the beginning and load everything through titanium backup, clear your market data, and manually sync your google account then it works. I haven't tested this yet though. frankly, I just gave up on this rom all together.....

Yeah sorry about that wazzelby, it was your post that got me trying to figure it out because UD looks like something I'd want to run.

Do you remember where you read this suggestion?

Try this...download ud extreme 7, remane to update.zip and drop in sdcard root then boot in to recovery wipe data/cache atleast 2x. Now install ud7 , boot up and let it restore everything. Once its done takeUD extreme 8.0 rename to update.zip and drop in sdcard root. Go to recovery don't wipe, just install it. Now Boot to ud8 and make all the tweaks you want etc. Then reboot...NO MORE BOOTLOOPS. Let me know if that helped. Good luck.

I'll give this a try here in a couple of minutes. Does it have to be done as "update.zip" or can I just navigate to the .zip file through recovery?
