Update release at 8 pm tonight

So if I don't update, I can just keep using Hotspot for free... Nice.

I called VZW & they had me do all the usual stuff ,still couldn't get it & told me 2 go n 2 nearest store & they could download it 4 me .lol

Just did the update. I'm standing outside in a 4g area and I'm only getting 3g. What happened?

So is free hot spot off with the up date or not?? BUT...I don't have the option to update right now anyway.

I checked for the update and I have an available down load that is about 75 mb in size ....but I'm not having any issues with my tb
At alll....so I am afraid to down load .....any thoughts anyone......

Didn't read too far back on the thread, but I forced mine. You have to force a 1x connection and then go to software updates under settings. It took a couple hours over 1x bit I loaded it and its working great.

I would guess that if you wait for VZW to push to your phone you can dl over LTE, but I didn't want to wait.

GPS is an almost instant lock and battery is greatly improved.

I still haven't gotten the update, first my update screen just kept disappearing like other peoples have done, now it just sits there (doesn't freeze) as I can still hit cancel, but it never loads anything. After a few minutes I get the message "SERVICE UNAVAILABLE. Check for Software Update undert Settings when service is available" My area doesn't have 4G yet but I have tried this with FULL 3G and WIFI, still nothing.

I was able to download in the Orlando area with no problems. I do not like the new 3G symbol. What does the people search function enabled do?

Yep. Once the update goes through, the icon for the mobile hotspot changes to a different icon. When you click on the mobile hotspot icon, the splash screen no longer appears and you go right into the app. Click on the box to turn the mobile hotspot on and a message pops up that says that you need to call Verizon to turn it on.

If u have no issues I wouldn't do it just wait 4 Gingerbread.
