[Update] Verizon's New Family Data Plans Begin: It's Called the Share Everything Plan

If these plans are rather difficult for the droidforums community to understand, imagine the millions of consumers trying to understand this lol.

Question: I have a 3G device on a line with unlimited data. Does anyone know if I can keep the same contract if I buy my next phone - a 4G device - non-subsidized? Or will I be limited to 3G devices?

I have no idea, however if any of the current phones interest you, you might be able to do an early upgrade.

Hahahahaha I have it all figured out now! Imagine if...

"ics is ready for download, please log into your Verizon account and select new family data plans to accept download"

Lol

4G/3G makes no difference, if you buy your new smartphone you will keep your unlimited data plan, get with the times, there is NO MORE 3G only phones on Verizon or AT&T or Sprint, withing the next 5 years , 3G will be no more, 4G LTE will be it, which will also be used for Voice and text.

Let me get this right. I currently pay just over $100 a month (before taxes and after corporate discount) for 1 smart phone with unlimited data, 2 dumb phones and 700 minutes shared between all 3 that we never use completely . Under the new plan it will cost me $100 just for the phones PLUS $60-70 a month for 2-4 gigs of data (what I currently use) and Verizon is trying to tell me this is good for me!!!!!!!

Listen up Verizon, There is NO WAY I will accept a 60-70% increase in my monthly bill. If you think this is going to fly you better think again. I have been a loyal Verizon customer for about 15 years but loyalty only goes so far. I live in an area that has decent coverage from all the major carriers and I will not hesitate to take my business elsewhere. I understand the need to profit from your business and reinvest in the future but this goes way beyond that.

Signed
A future, former customer.

looks like if I want, I can upgrade my phone now at full price..

I'm guessing that means I wouldn't have to pay an early termination fee as well as I could keep my unlimited?

Technically, you are welcome to buy a phone at full price at anytime with no ETF, it just isn't an "upgrade" per se.

This share everything plan might actually work better for me. My hubby has just has a basic phone and I have a the Razr Maxx. I Iike the idea of unlimited messaging and minutes on calls. I actually dont even use up 2G per month but I might just get 4G to have a comfort level. Does anyone know how I can check to see how much Gigs I use per month? I think there is a way to check on my phone but I cant find it.
