***Updated*** Easy Root Available. 3 step process

Hm....looks like we're in the same field for the most part. On the Dropbox note I'm the same way....always trying to con people into signing up to give me more space hahahahah dancedroiddancedroid

I downloaded the thunderbolt rar file and unzipped it. There are two more rar files in the folder that i extracted it to. Do i need to unzip them as well or just the main file and now onto rooting?

just unzip the main thunderbolt rar file and that's it. Open that folder and click on rooter.exe and go from there.

Just leave those 2 other .zips alone and run the Rooter.exe (Assuming you've done all the other steps with ADB).

I downloaded adb for dummies and installed it. Is there anything else I need to do with it?

Nope, other than make sure your computer can see your phone (may need to install HTC Sense drivers). Other than that, give it a try and good luck :). Be prepared to follow that instructions.pdf - I had to close Rooter.exe and restart it every time it said I had to. But other than that, it was perfect.

Right the two .zips are PGO files (I think that's the name) that get pushed to the Thunderbolt in order to flash a different firmware.

This is frustrating me so much. Now that i have everything downloaded and ready to go the computer sees the phone but when i open htc sync it does not see the phone. I tried several times to uninstall htc sync and the driver from the computer and reinstall them with no luck. It just so happened that i took my computer to work yesterday and borrowed my friends cable to hook up the phone to the computer and it work perfect but now that i am home it will not work at all. I went to verizon and got a new cable that didnt help. Went to radio shack bought a new cable that didnt work. and i tried an lg able i had no help. when i open htc sync on the computer it sees the phone for a second then not and same thing with the phone says connected then not. I dont want to root till htc sync works in fear of bricking my phone. does anyone have any clue what is going on?

On HTC's website. Sorry I don't have a direct link, I'm on my phone.

When i search htc sense or htc sense download on the htc website it keeps coming up with updated roms for other phones instead.

Go to the TB page under products.

Somewhere in the specs or something there's a link.

I just was on there the other day.

Great post! This mad the root process easy. I had to perform steps 2 twice as I received the error mentioned. I also had to perform step 3 a couple times and do 3 reboots for SU to be enabled.

Either way...this works great and I'm rooted! :)

Nothing under specs for a link under downloads there is only sync not sense. Already downloaded sync with no luck.
