[Updated] Verizon Plans To Eliminate 'Grandfathered' 3G Unlimited Data Plans

Like I stated before. You can get insurance when you buy from Buy.com, Amazon, Bestbuy, Cell Hut, and etc. But I don't know that there are insurance companies willing to risk covering phones from a reg guy selling "Retail price like" phone on Ebay. If they do exist, then I feel more relieved. Good to know! :icon_ lala: :hail:

Bought my Rezound from eBay, continued my insurance with Verizon.

Or republic wireless. haha...for me only reason to i stay with vzw is my unlimited but if they take that and im forced to leave i can go for sprint or att. if i get terrible reception on sprint and am force to go tiered then i will head to att. I get 20% off my bill with either one. So only reason that i stayed with vzw is the unlimited data.

Nike, Did you just read this thread from beginning to end to get caught up/reply?

If so, I'm impressed!

Not entirely. I had stopped at page 33 on my last visit which was the last page, and with the new posts, it swelled to 40 pages. so that was in 7 pages.

I didn't read the entire 33 pages before, but did like 10, then jumped to page 33.

Now looking back, that was a long multi quote!!

Can I get insurance on a phone that I bought full price?

Found it right after posting. Company is "Safeware" . The email says if you have a paypal receipt, they insure your smartphone.

SquareTrade.com has been offering insurance on eBay items for many many years... They also offer extended warranties on other retail and non retail equipment, at a lower cost than what you would pay Best Buy or other retail establishments

I hope these weren't about proving me wrong :p... I hope you get your answer that you're looking for Nalgon. Great Community :hail::icon_ lala:

I wasn't trying to prove anyone wrong. I was informing users that there are companies that will insure both new and used items bought at a retail store or eBay. If the facts make you wrong I am sorry for that, but now you know there are companies out there too.

ilovedf Yeah we all here to help each others out dancedroid . I sure do @Mystical Dreams :)... now, I can broaden my selections of where to buy phone as I can have insurance to cover it. This relaxes my mind that some Insurance companies don't care where I get my phone as long as I provide receipt and pay them monthly payments.

No one here seems to understand the importance of a good signal and reception pretty much anywhere. I get reception in the middle of the woods, miles from any human contact when I am out hunting, and no problem with reception. I have friends with Sprint and AT&T that hate their service, like the saying goes, you get what you pay for, don't expect steak when you paying for a burger. Verizon is a bit expensive but I know I won't be stranded when I need to make that important phone call or receive it, plus my whole family is on Verizon and most of my friends, so pretty much unlimited mobile to mobile.

Its not about price really, its about them seemingly crapping all over their customers every chance they get and then having the audacity to tell them its for their own good. If you need to raise your prices raise them, don't sneakily nickel and dime me behind my back and hope I don't notice. Its the how they're getting more money from me not really the fact that they actually are getting more. I've stuck with V$ for a long time and defended their high prices because of the superior network, but their most recent business tactics are wearing thin on me.

You know, somewhere in this thread someone was saying that they are losing money on the residential service because of everyone going cellular and doing away from home land line service. Thats crap! Look, I got rid of my home line. It was $50 a month and it was only ONE number. I went cellular and now have 3 numbers on my account and will have 3 more soon due to my kids growing up. So, drop $50 but adding $100's. I wouldn't say thats losing money

Yeah, before I got the plan I'm on not I was paying 120 dollars for one line one number!!! My land line phone with ATT when I had it was like 30 bucks a month with internet.

Their complaining about losing money, which I very honestly find very hard to believe, whatever happened to FIOS? It was amazing when it first came out they rolled it out in a few big cities and never expanded it. Its kinda moot now because cable has caught up, but they really should have taken advantage of that when they had the chance to.

Honestly though I think Verizon Wireless and the "regular" Verizon may be separate entities, so none of that may matter.

Whether they are separate entities or not they still have to face change. Face it.....land lines are dinosaurs and on their way to extinction. You can't compete if no one wants/needs your product.
