Verizon begins sending customers early upgrade promotions

I called the number at the end of this video 3 times and all the times I was able to upgrade so I am upgrading for sure I can't wait!

Only phone I ever did an early upgrade with was when I wanted the Voyager (lol). Treated it like a pearl at first but stopped really caring after several months. Finally got the Droid when I was elgible for an upgrade this January. I'm only about 6 months into my 2 year contract, so I don't expect to get an early upgrade letter.
THough I'm really satisfied with the Droid (more than I expected) and even if they were to offer me an early upgrade, I have to say I'd probably ignore it. I'll probably let this contract run it's full 2 years. Unless a phone with the same amount of custmization (and possibly more) comes out sometime next year.

yeah im very happy with my rooted Droid 1 that was purchased on launch day, was working to get my wife out of the damn devour haha.
I am not rooted so I really don't care about a phone being unlocked but I can't wait for my Droid X to get here! This is going to be a long week and a half.

just call verizon and ask them if you can take the upgrade from another one of the lines, if that line doesnt want the upgrade that is

Im pretty sure i am not eligable..... but who cares...... my dorid 1 works flawlessly and i have never had a problem with it at all..... ive already seen the problems with the X and Inc so im in no hurry to upgrade

I purchased my Droid 45 days ago. I got the promo in the mail last week. 199.00 for a Droid X. Before the promo I priced the X on verizons web site and it was full price now its at the two year price of 199.00.
I'm very happy with my Droid and don't know if I want to spend an extra 200 bucks to get a Droid X:motdroidhoriz:

I haven't received anything yet, but I doubt I would use it anyway. I love my rooted Droid & like the fact that I can change themes & such to really make it my own.

The lady I dealt with had no idea what "special smartphone upgrade" I was apparently elligable for (the one that the email said to me. Not their announcement email, I talked directly to a rep via email) so I had to explain it all. Was on hold a lot, guessing she had to talk to her supervisor since this seems to be a brand new (and not announced yet) promotion. $199, not bad dancedroid

What are you talking about? $199 is the price from the promotion... or anyone upgrading with 2yr extension. So you got a different promotion, other than the one this thread is about?
No no, I got the same one as their unveiling. I never got a txt/email/snail mail about this current promotion though, one of the email reps said I qualified. So I'm guessing I didn't pop up in the system or something because I had to explain the whole deal over the phone, THEN she said OK to the 2yr price.
woo hoo!!!! i've been so frustrated calling 611 and dealing with reps that have no idea about the promo. i called the number on the video and the rep was able to push it through. i said i received the text video, but i don't think they believed me. they don't really seem to care to be honest. can't wait.
i'm going to miss my rooted droid 1, but i'm kind of looking forward to not dealing with roms and updates and starting all over again every three days. if i have the ability i know i'm going to constantly flash and wipe. i have a weakness that has taken over my life. the droid x will be my electronic cigarette if you will ( which worked for me bye the way hah!)
