The biggest problem is you can't enter the program unless you're out of contract. Otherwise it's not really a bad deal.

Only if you're on an unlimited plan. Otherwise, why pay full retail (and it is the equivalent of full retail any way you slice it) when you could have a $400 subsidy with a 2-yr contract? Especially when, truthfully, the newest phones are still fairly marginal upgrades over phones 12-18 months older. My 26 month old Rezound does everything I need, still.
