ViperBoy...
First and foremost thanks for helping us out...I have been trying to talk to someone on Tech Support and been disconnected 5 times....
Anyway, I am running a Corporate POP3 Email. However, when I forward emails with attachments, the attachments do not get forwarded?
Frankly this is rediculus. Everyone one in corporate american has to forward attachments from there phone. Why is it so difficult on a Droid..How do I fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Are they large files? I have not had this problem for me, but I don't use corporate email. As suggested, does it help if you download the attachment and than try to forward it?
I don't know if you have exeperienced this but when my wife calls me on my work phone (she is on droid, I am on an office landline) about 1 minute into the conversation I get a bleep or series of bleeps loud in my ear. Then every minute or two I hear bleeps. She also had a friend make the same comment during a call.
We took the phone to a verizon store where the not very helpful lady tried to replicate the problem but she could not. I don't know if it's some weird issue with the droid and my office phone (never had this with any other call before) or the droid. Nobody has ever made the same comment when I call them on my droid.
Any ideas what might be the cause? I thought maybe it was a call waiting or she was activating something with her cheek (but the screen should be deactivated during the call). It's not incoming text messages either.
Any ideas how we can persuade verizon to replace the phone?
Sounds like something with the phone. When she gets off of the call, does she have numbers on the dialer like she was accidentally pressing buttons?
All of the sudden i have a new voicemail icon in the notification bar.
press the notification to call my voicemail and it says no new messages, but the icon still is there and says 1 new VM. There is no clear all option.
also, i use google voice and i never got a notification from google voice of a new voicemeail, just the default icon for a new VM
is there anyway to bypass GV and go straight the verizon default voicemail and delete it there, the only thing i can think of is that it is for some reason not getting passed to GV
thank you for any help
Sounds like a stuck MWI (message waiting indicator). Call from another phone and leave yourself a message. Call VM from your Droid and delete it. The MWI should go away.
Hi VB,
First off thanks for taking all the questions!
I asked this question in another forum shortly after I got my droid, no one knew the answer but maybe you can help.
I have my droid checking 3 pop accounts. In each of these accounts I have old msgs in the inbox. I have about 125 in one account in the inbox. I delete most of the new email I get but not all. In this account if I receive 3 emails the 3 oldest in the inbox no longer show (which is ok) however if I delete the 3 new ones the 3 old ones that got dropped of the list now show back up at the bottom of the list, however I get notified that I have new email and these three old ones show up as new. I like that they come back on the list but not that they show up as new. They are all marked as read on the server.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks,
Joe
Very odd! Did you try removing the account and readding? If so, I'm wondering if it is something with Hotmail. I have not run into this issue in the stores.
I have a big problem with my call quality. I got the phone about a week ago and while everyone I call hears me perfectly clear, I hear alot of static and their voice sounds muffled. This gets even worse with any kind of background noise. Everyone I know locally that has Verizon has clear sound quality on their phones(non-Droid).
I've tried *228, EVRC-B, 13K, battery pulls, killing all tasks, even getting a replacement. The new one does the same thing. Running 2.0.1 since I bought it.
Is there anything else I can try? Another replacement? I really love the phone and would hate to get rid of it because of something so simple.
Wow! You have the same problem with a replacement?? It seems VERY unlikely that you would have 2 phones with bad earpieces. I would say to have it replaced again, and if it continues to happen, it has to be a network/area problem. There can be problems with only one way of a call. Rare, but it can happen.
Fully charged in the a.m. Midday it alerts "fifteen minutes of charge left" and within a few minutes it shuts down. Will not USB charge (sometimes) off my laptop at this point but will of others. Not dependable because of this problem. There is not enough waring between the alert and when it shuts down completely.
Did you always have a problem with battery life? Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > About Phone > Battery Use. Is there anything that is using alot of power?
I have an issue sending mms. I send sms and they go through just fine, I get sms and mms and they work and look fine. When I send an mms is never sends it or delivers it. I spoke to verizon tech on the phone and they say it a network issue while my wife a non droid user sends me mms or pics all the time. The Verizon tech had me send my self pictures and sent me a picture and i tried sending her pictures and she never got them and opened a ticket. Its been about 3 days and still cant send mms (pics). Anyone else have issues? Is this infact a network issue or a phone issue?
Yes, it does sound like a network issue. MMS out never worked properly for you? Have you tried sending to different people on different carriers? Keep me updated.
There's been a question in another thread regarding the possibility of an external antenna jack on the droid. Is the small port in the battery compartment for an external antenna?
That port has been seen used to connect the Droid to a "dock" at Corp Stores....
I'm not sure who said it was a "dock". We don't dock the Droids. When we update store stock, we use a regular micro usb cable. And the process to flash the Droid's is fairly new.
I think I remember reading somewhere that someone said they saw a corporate store flashing the phone before it launched? I would highly doubt that. We just got the ability to flash them not long ago.
Viperboy First-Thanks! Second-Best way to improve video performance? One needs full daylight really it seems. Tried every internal setting variation I can find to no avail. Heard about CameraZOOM for photos which is cool. Is there an app you've heard about that works to get the best video? -- RobO
Truth be told, I haven't tried taking a video yet and have not heard of anyone having this problem. I will try to mess with it a little and see how it turns out. Thanks for informing me, I will investigate this.
viperboy,
Today shortly after adding an appointment to my calendar, my Droid kept showing the sync icon in the top status bar and icon would never go away. Battery started draining much quicker than normal and phone stayed very warm.
Pulled battery and restarted droid, but sync indicator returned. Phone stayed very warm even after not using it for while. I went to settings>accounts and sync and unchecked "Sync Calendar" which was syncing nonstop. Problem goes away.
Rebooted phone and started "Sync Calendar" up and problem returns. No problems with syncing Gmail and contacts.
Is the calendar data corrupted possibly? Should I remove the Gmail account and re-add it? It says I must first do a factory reset. I hate to lose all my system data, applications and settings.
What should I do?
I would remove the account first. If that doesn't work when you add it back in, backup your calendar through GMail on your computer, try a sync from the phone, and once it sync with nothing, import the calendar back and resync.
Hey viper, question....Im having major issues with emails. I have Hotmail and Gmail (obviously). Gmail works fine but my Hotmail not too shabby. I read my hotmail emails on my PC and delete whatever I want to delete. Somehow, everytime I reboot my Droid, it always tells me I have new email from Hotmail when I dont. Sometime it even tells me I havent read an email from a week ago when it was already read, well a week ago. Is this a known issue? I do have the new s/w...
Thanks Viper, we appreciate your help!
This is the second mention of a problem with Hotmail. I am inclined to say that some setting is wrong in Hotmail that is messing up the Droid. I don't have Hotmail but maybe someone who does can look into it and see if there is something that needs to be changed.
viperboy,
where's my shirt???
Sorry bud, nothing I can do. Wish I could though.
Anyone had any issues with the gallery force closing since the update? I have seen a couple of threads in other forums that say to reset the phone - did that - still n.g.
I have quite a few pics on my phone (~700) and a lot of directories due to putting mp3 files and their album covers on the SD. This morning my gallery jusdt decided to start force closing every time I opened it. After the reset it does it about every 2nd time.
Nothing I've noticed and I have alot of pictures as well. Are all your picture files located in one big folder? If not, I would try that so that the phone can scan for them easier.
