Hello,

The last two months, my phone bill has been roughly $10 cheaper than it was prior, and I've refrained from calling as if its a mistake, I'd rather let it run its course. <.<

I've had the $39.99 450 plan since when the Droid launched, as well as the $29.99 data plan and the $20 unlimited text package. For every month between then and Feb, it was right around $94.90 or so. For the last two months though, its been $84.88. I've checked online to make sure none of the prices had dropped, as this happened shortly after their conversion of the unlimited talk plan to $69.99. When I activated my line, I was in a not so great standing credit wise, and I was required to pay a $125 security deposit, however, I was told that it would be refunded to me via check after paying my bill on time for 12 months. Have they perhaps changed their policy on this and are instead planning on deducting ~$10 from my bill for 12 months, or is this just a simple billing error?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I assume you didn't apply for an employer discount?

Also, to be honest you would be better off doing the 59.99/mth 450 talk and unlimited text, same amount of minutes, unlimited text AND you get to be eligible for an annual upgrade.

Unless there is not employer discount on the plan I'm not sure how you're paying sub-$90 after taxes... because if you add up your plan you're looking at 89.97 before taxes.

As far as I know they haven't changed policies. If you want to PM me your info I can look into your account to see if anything had changed.

I would suggest looking at the charges detail of the bill instead of just the total. Its also a muuch better plan over sending your account info to a random person on the internet.

Feel a bit foolish now I guess. I completely forgot that back when I signed up for it, I was working through a temp agency that had a 15% discount for any features and 15% discount for all access plans (funny enough, the temp job was actually for Verizon during part of a big change over on the east coast.)

I completely forgot about that. XD I looked up the billing statements online, and I does show them under "Promotion Details." However, doing the math confuses me on it. Total discount should be just under $13 from the 15% off of the $29.99 data plan, and the $59.99 package. Showing the premium 450 + unlimited text plan on the website, so I guess that they bumped me up to that when I changed it over. But, looking at the past bills on the site, shows that before the employment discount went in, I was at $92.61, and after I'm at $84.88. Even though the discount shows that it applies to Access and my Features, does it actually not apply to the data plan? That'd make the amount come out right then, to just over $8. Also, why did it take nearly four months for that to go through, just out of curiousity. Kind of funny that it didn't go through until two months after the contract with the temp agency was over. >.>

One last question as well. Concerning changing over from the $39.99 450 minute plan + $20 unlimited text addon to the $59.99 450 min + text plan, what is the difference? You mentioned being able to annually upgrade, although from my understanding, you had that anyways no matter the plan, as long as you're on a plan, correct? Either way, thank you very much for the help. Can't believe I forgot about the discount, but it had been so long since I set it up that I just assumed the taxs ate it up, plus I could of sworn it was only 10%, but can't complain with an extra $5. :D

New droid, ported #, can't recieve text messages

Hi -
I moved to the Droid, and Verizon, from AT&T on Sunday. I still can't receive text messages from certain contacts. It's kind of spotty.
Customer service was just kind of wait and see - they weren't sure why it was happening at all.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Cat:greendroid:

First, welcome to the true 3G experience, lol.

Did you keep your same number? What phone did you have?
I ask cause if you ported over it may take a little while for tour archive to switch over. I.e. Some messages may still be going through to at&t. Make sure you keep the old phone off for at least another day for the process to complete.
This of based off my personal experience switching from sprint to verizon. And my 4+ years of experience with selling Verizon, Sprint, Cingular & T-mobie.

Thanks!

Thanks! Yes, I kept my # and I moved from an iPhone.
I've had my phone off for 3 days now - it's only other AT&T customers that I'm having issues with now. Hopefully it will update today. I'm a texter!

Yea I figured that was it. The texts are probably still going to Matt's server but I should hopefully be done by now. I'm sure art finds it odd for someone to leave them and the iPhone for Verizon and the Droid. I mean God forbid, LOL. But yea you should be good now.

I hope this question is appropriate for this thread.

I just got a Droid last week on April 16th. The new Droid Incredible is coming out on April 29th. Since I haven't (will not have had?) my phone for the 30 day satisfaction period, will I be able to return it and in exchange get the Droid Incredible and only have to pay the restocking fee ($35 IIRC)? If I can, I assume I will need all original boxes and equipment (i tore the part of the box off that had the UPC but I haven't mailed it yet and I still have the rest of the box...would that be a problem?). I also got the home dock in the accessories bundle...will I be able to return that as well for a Droid Incredible dock, assuming there will be one on launch day? Will I still be able to do the MIR with the UPC from the Incredible or can I go ahead and mail it in now?

Will Verizon replace my Droid.........Recently I've noticed when my phone vibrates it's not the firm vibration anymore. Now whenever it vibrates it sounds and feels like something is loose. So can I walk into a VZW store and say YO.....This thing is vibrating funny like something is loose, have them look at it and then replace it with a new one. I mean the difference in vibration is very noticable. The damn thing rattles. I know when I had my Dare my screen was acting funny and they gave me a new phone.

I've got a quick question regrading phone activation. I've preordered the Incredible by phone to be delivered the 29th. I used the upgrade from my secondary line to get the discount on the phone, but the Incredible will actually be replacing my primary line phone. I'm hearing some conflicting information about activation. Some are saying it must be activated on the second line and then transferred over to the primary line. Then the secondary phone being shifted back to its regular position. I know I used to be able to switch the phone serial numbers and such online but don't see that now. What's going to be the best way to activate the new phone and make sure it gets applied to the right line and that the contract is activated correctly to avoid extra charges on the phone?

It would be replaced with a refurbished phone but it does sound like a problem covered by the warranty.

So they'll replace it with a refurb in store at no cost to me. What kills me is that if I were to pay the 50 buck deductable they would send a refurb too. I had to throw a fit about that when they did that when I had the Dare.

There is no deductible for phones covered by warranty.

You would only pay verizon $50 if there was damage to the phone not covered by the warranty or the warranty had expired. To eliminate the confusion though, both of these options have been discontinued.

So what's the warranty like a year. So Within a year I can take it in for a replacement refurb

12 month warranty for the original owner only. If troubleshooting finds an issue that is covered and the phone isn't otherwise damaged, your phone can be replaced.
