If I have an Incredible on order (backordered until the 28th) can I cancel that order?

I ordered this phone on june 6th with my annual upgrade on primary line. I am pretty sure I am going to want to switch to the Droid X (or whatever it is called) I know they are just RUMORS.. but RUMORs have it that the phone will be available for pre-order soon.

What is the best way to switch the phone.

1. Let the incredible come in and then return in within the 30 day period and request a DroidX

2. Cancel the Incredible and then wait for the droid x to be available for preorder

I would like to obtain the new Droid ASAP... I would hate to have to wait for the incredible to return and THEN be available to preorder and then get stuck waiting because the DRoid goes on back order. KWIM? I realize that may be the only way to do it though... I'm just so ready to be a android user.

Can you return an internet order to a store if you are exchanging within the 30 days?

Thanks for your help

Rachel

Cancel the Incredible, I had a similar situation with a customer. He ordered and incredible but we got some in 3 days after he ordered it and they allowed him to cancel it.

Also I dont know about all markets but Verizon is giving a $100 credit to people port over.

$100 switcher credit for people porting over s goes from 6/11/10 to 6/27/10

You must sign up for a 900 mins or more plan on a Single line or 1400 or more on a Family share plan.

the $100 will be in the form of a CREDIT on the 2nd or 3rd bill.

Again I dont know if it applies to all markets, last time we did this it only applied to certian midwest and north east markets.

Great... I was told (not by verizon though) that once you had one ordered you could not cancel the order. So I wasn't sure that was a possibility

With such a long back order they have been able to cancel orders, there were a couple customer that did but uslly the only way to cancel the order is to refuse to recive the order from fedex when they deliver it. But the back order has changed some things up.

Just wanted to let everyone who might have been watching my question know that I was unable to cancel my order. I think it was because it was placed online. The CS rep I talked to said that those orders go straight to the warehouse and are unable to be stopped. When he asked why I told him I was pretty sure I was going to want to return the Incredible for a new phone that was supposedly coming out soon. Of COURSE he knew nothing of that and said that nothing would be annouced or released before I got my phone on the 30th. He then followed that up saying that they aren't told anything about new phones until about a week before launch... so ???

Anyway. He said to just refuse shipment of the phone. I told him that EVEN THOUGH he didn't think any phones would be available for order before it arrived I didn't want to get stuck waiting for the processsing turnaround time to be able to order the new phone. He said it shouldn't be a problem... but I am still worried I will get stuck waiting even LONGER... oh well... I tried.

Let me see if i can get you a diffrent number to call, unless they are shipping the incredibles sooner than the quoted date they should of canceled it, just like they did for my customers.

Let me look into it.

I <3 VZW and the droid. As a CS Manager, I can say that good service is an expectation and you guys ALWAYS deliver!!! I may even consider working for you guys one day.

YES!!!... I agree. The ONLINE and ON PHONE customer reps I have talked to have ALWAYS been super friendly and tried to be helpful. And I realize they can only do what they can do. I have been very happy with their service... if only our local store were that good :( They have a new manager now.. .but still a little leary.
