Promos or Discounts?

I'm plan on ordering the Droid 2 Global from Verizon's website as a new Verizon Wireless customer. I'm a Verizon DSL customer (landline + highspeed internet). Are there any discounts or promotion codes for Verizon's DSL customers? I will be paying full retail with a Month to Month contract. Any savings would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I get 2 DXs through the BOGO deal now, and a better deal comes along around Christmas, would I be able to return them since it will be within the 30-day trial period and get them again with the better deal (or maybe just receive a credit for the difference)?

Also, if by chance, the DINC HD comes out before the 30-day period is up, would I be able to return one of the DX phones to get the DINC HD, while keeping the other DX or would both need to be returned?

Thanks for your help!

you can return it but there would be the restocking fee, as for a credit, well i doubt they will give it, I mean I dont go to hyvee on monday and buy a 12 pack of bud light for $12 but then go back and ask for a credit on wensday when its $9.

No need to return them, you can get a price adjustment credit within 30 days.

Hotspot Performance

Hey VZW Rep,

How well does Droid X hotspot work? Would I be able to cancel my ISP cable if I don't download much data?

Thx

Android OS Adds 011 to Local Numbers to Make Misplace International Calls

Hi, I hope you can help. I want to point out an Android OS bug and ask for a bug fix from Google. The BUG (not a feature, not a well thought out design) creates a problem if you put any text for a notation after a phone number in the contact list. The problem is that the Droid dials a 011 in front of the number if their is text after the 10 digit phone number. This 011 does not show on the display; it just does it in the background. (FYI Assisted dialing is turned off, current country is USA, reference country is USA).

This Android problem happens even though the number in the contact list shows the area code and local city/state. For example "(760)555-1212 mikes cel" in Oceanside CA dials Russia. This is a Major design flaw!

I spent a very frustrating hour on the phone yesterday with Verizon Wireless customer service with absolutely no resolution other then to go through over 4000 phone numbers in my database and manually remove text after each one and thus lose the info in my notations. The Verizon Wireless rep told me this is just how the Android OS is designed and it just doesn't do what I expect it to do. And that I should be ok with this.

Well ... Every (and I mean every) other phone including office systems, cell phones, smart phones, home phones do not work this way and never have. With all other phones, if your contact phone number has more then 10 digits the extra digits are just dialed or ignored (typically this is not a problem, the Droid OS converts the text to numbers which I'm fine with). However, I do have a problem with the Android OS changing local calls to misplaced international calls. Maybe when Verizon has to start refunding international charges they will address this problem.

The Verizon Wireless service rep's reasoning is like this: if I buy a car and turn the wheel left and the car goes right then this is ok, if it was designed that way. NOT OK! Please help. Google does not listen to users, and the only hope of getting this Android bug fixed is if the carriers tell Google this is making it's users "displeased" with the Android OS. Once a bad reputation is out there it is extremely difficult to overcome.

What will it take to get Verizon to tell Google that this is a problem and a bug; and not just spout out lame excuses.

I hope you can help. This is not an isolated problem because it is easy to find on different Droid forums and easy to replicate.

Awesome, thanks for the info! What about if I wanted to return one in the off chance that the DINC HD comes out before the 30 day period is over? Can I keep the other free one, or do I have to return that one too?

My computer is on a dual boot.
Windows XP
Vista 64

I just upgraded the vista part to windows 7, now my aircard won't even work. Vz access manager claims it connects to the network but it refuses to transfer data back and forth.

Using UM175 usb modem card.

I'm redownloading vzaccess manager software even though I think I'm already running the latest build/vers.

My signal is -75 dbms (just about full bars), so I should be getting online no problems right? No dice.

Only of the new phone has a buy one get any deal associated with it. Otherwise you would have to pay for all 4 phones

Family Upgrade Deal

Currently on a family plan, but we have no lines with Smartphones or any data packs.

I spoke with a VZW rep today and I understand if we moved 3 lines to Smartphones we get a $9.99 credit on 2 lines for 24 months.

Is this deal only available thru VZW or is it also available thru 3rd party upgrades like Wirefly?

Also -- There is a Family Talk & Text deal on the 3rd party sites at $99/mo (2 lines), but not on VZW -- Is it available on VZW/

With these promos id buy at a Verizon corp store or premium retailer. Better chance of it not being screwed up. Also Verizon is offering. BOGOs on all the droids.

Droid Causes Misdialed International Calls (Verizon Wireless)

Hi, I haven't tried to call Motorola directly, but this is the "Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum" so I hope somebody at Motorola is monitoring this. Also it's an Android OS bug / problem. I don't know how to reach anybody helpful at Google, Verizon, nor Motorola.

Does anybody from Verizon or Motorola have any solutions for mis-dialed international calls caused by Google Android phones?
