WaveSecure

There are 8 pages in this thread and no one is complaining so I assume this app works, but I just can't get it to. I installed WaveSecure this morning and have sent the lock command from the website to my phone 3 times and each time it says Locking... for about 5 minutes and then comes back with the message: Your phone failed to lock and the lock command timed out. Anyone know what might cause this? Does the phone have to be powered down for it to lock? Thanks!

Edit - When I powered down the phone and turned it back on it did finally lock. Is that how this is supposed to work? Gives the thieves a long time to get to your personal info. I just installed Mobile Defense as well and that was able to lock as soon as I turned it off (but did not have to power down). That seems more useful since the phone will timeout and turn off at some point when the crook is not paying attention. Any further insights into these two programs would be gratefully welcome. Thanks again!

I'm having the same issue. Kinda odd that it only locks after a reboot.

Well, WaveSecure almost gave me a heart attack this morning. My wife and I have a phone number for the Pittsburgh area and we now live in Eastern PA. We decided this morning we needed to change our phone numbers to local ones. So, we changed her number first, then I changed mine on the Droid. As soon as the new number was programmed, WaveSecure kicked in and locked me out - while I was still on the phone with VZW Customer Service. I said to the lady - uhhh, thanks, I have to deal with a program on my phone. So, WaveSecure said it was sending a temporary PIN to my wife's phone - well, hers got changed first so I thought I was S.O.L. So, out of desperation I tried using my log in PIN number and thankfully it worked. I looked online to see how to change everything but couldn't find it so I just uninstalled WaveSecure and then reinstall it again and use my new number.

I'm sure this isn't going to happen too often, but at one point I was thinking I can't even do a factory reset. So glad I was able to use my PIN from the login from my computer.

I also can't get it to lock via the website. The text message is never received and I'm in an area with perfect signal strength. It does seem to randomly lock when restarting the phone.

As far as WaveSecure customer service, it's pretty terrible. First email to them was sent January 14, reply received January 22. I tried again a couple days ago with this latest problem, obviously no response yet.

What if someone had a real problem?

Hi all,
Thank you for the feedback and comments. However, we seek your understanding and patience while we work things out.

We understand that many users have emailed us or posted on forums their support or feature requests. We apologize for not being able to get back to you sooner than we hoped.

WaveSecure had about 50,000 downloads on Android Market alone last month. As a somewhat feature-rich and advanced product, there are generally quite a bit questions from users. Our support team has been working as hard as they can to answer all support requests. Do be patient while we get back to you as soon as we can.

Because of this and our appreciation to Android users for helping improve our product, we are extending our free lifetime account offer till 31 Mar 2010.

Thanks,
cheewee

I'm Done!

Everytime you power your phone back on, you get prompted to enter in the wave secure password. I don't believe this is optional with wave secure...

That's odd. I installed and activated WS on the 25th. I always turn my phone off at night and this is the first time I've seen this message.

So are you saying that everytime you turn your phone on, you are prompted to enter your wave secure password?

I really like the idea, but the inconsistancy makes me a little nervous.

As I have stated before, my phone gets turned off at night and I have only had to enter the unlock code once; before this morning that is.

Saturday I played with my phone most of the afternoon (who doesn't). I tried locating it with Wave Secure; setting the alarm; locking it all with no success. Since I still have Mobile Defense installed as well, I'm not too concerned about my phone.

So this morning, like I do every morning, I turned my phone on and went into the bathroom. All of a sudden all I can hear is a woman screaming. So I fly into my room and try to get the phone unlocked while I am trying to quiet my phone... I finally I do a battery pull for 2 reasons.... it's 5:45 in the morning and my 3 year old son is trying to sleep across the hall.

So needless to say the first thing I did was start my computer, log into Wave Secure and try to unlock my phone. Oh nice... all I'm getting is that message that says my phone is "unlocking". The same one I got Saturday when my phone never locked. I'm thinking I've turned my phone into a screaming woman box... ugh!

I had to put my battery back in... somehow try to stifle my speaker and disable the stupid woman screaming alarm, again while trying not to wake up my 3 year old son, so I can try to get my pin entered. Good thing my husband was already at work.

The really annoying part is I have tried to play with these features so I would know how my phone would react; so I could hear the alarm and have some experience disarming it. Hearing the alarm for the first time and trying to disarm it at 5:45 AM when you first get up all while trying not to wake your family is borderline hilarious and not the way I wanted testing this application to go.

Needless to say, the first thing I did after getting my phone unlocked was UNINSTALL Wave Secure. Too bad really, the program had a ton of potential. But I have no desire to wake up to a screaming woman... it's not the best way to start the day or the week.

Now if I could just get that sound of that screaming woman out of my head.

Will not Locate me

Hi I'm trying wavesecure I have a motorola driod, First issue is it doesn't lock the phone until it's turned off, Plenty of time to uninstall the program.

Wavesecure is , for the moment, charging international texting

Just found this on the site as I was about to do a backup:

IMPORTANT: To improve reliability, we have switched back to our SMS gateway in Singapore. Depending on your carrier/operator, you may be charged for receiving international text messages when executing remote instructions.

It's 9:12pm Pacific Time right now.

For some reason I can't find wavesecure in the market from my droid. I had installed before but had done a factory wipe.. when I search wave or wavesecure or wave secure or tencube or even the com package name it doesn't show. Anyone having the same issue?

Hi s-one,
Previously, we encountered a minor glitch. WaveSecure should be available from Android Market now. We will be pushing out a new build with bug fixes and launching a new website really soon.

Do follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.

Thanks,
