What are Your First Impessions Of The Galaxy Nexus?

I think that's a fairly debateable claim. It's the best right now seeing as it's the only 1 with ICS. If the hardware doesn't impress your friend with the RAZR or Rezound, it wouldn't with the Nexus, either. It's all ICS.

No. The other two aren't as responsive for one. And also the screen is great on this. Its a combination of everything that I want.

The only complaint I have is the battery takes a long time to charge

The battery takes forever to charge and no time to discharge.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but when using it the battery goes very quickly.

see i disagree with both your points.. the screen is nice but the rezound screen IMO is better, and the month I had the rezound it was very responsive

After much work, tech support and frustration I am returning my first G-Nex tomorrow and getting another in hopes it can hold a data signal. So far it's not looking good. I sure hope I just got a bad one and the next one will have good 3g and 4g signal. All I want is for it to be as good as my Thunderbolt which had almost twice as good of a signal.

I will post my results of my 2nd G-Nex tomorrow. I sure hope they have some since they were selling well.

My first full day of normal use, all 3g, extended battery. Didn't last as long as my DX, but not horrible, and I thought it charged fairly quickly with the car charger. Signal is an issue, and dropped a couple calls. Liking the screen alot, and 15 second video I took of the dog impresses people with the quality of the pic, and my screen. I like the camera just fine. Apps are fast and responsive, no issues there. Would like the battery cover to be a bit more grippy, but got a silicone case for it this evening.
EDIT: Google search of "Galaxy Nexus signal issues" brings up a bunch of results, not good...

Also coming from the TBlot, which is still sitting right next to me, saying "how could you do this to me" I miss SENSE and all the wonderful widgets...people, toggles, picture frames, etc. but the snappy nature of the faster HW and OS makes up for it. the battery drains quickly but it charges fast. I went for 0 to 45% in an hour with the stock 1850.

My biggest problem is the slow charging battery! Other than that I'm having none of the issues you guys are. Data has been excellent. My 4g is great and so is my 3g.

The screen is beautifulllllllll.

I've had the device for a day and I loooooooooooove it. Coming from an iPhone 4, I'm really happy to be back on Android. I've seen no problems with volume of any kind (I'm very pleased with speakerphone) and although the bar count for data seems to be low, my speeds have been excellent. ICS is BEAUTIFUL, especially with this gorgeous screen.

And I know build quality is subjective to the user, but this phone feels really solid. I had a D1, a DINC, and an iPhone 4 and this Nexus is the only device out of all 4 I'd say has the perfect feel for me.

My only cons for right now are 1) the absence of the notification light during charging and 2) the TERRIBLE stock ringtones & notification sounds. Also, having an iPhone for almost a year I've forgotten how quick Android devices drain battery, but it's not a big concern for me.

Ok, just picked up the phone last night and have been playing with it most of the night. So far it seems to run just as fast as the Razor I just turn in and the screen is just as nice.
Put most of my apps back on and so far so good not one has seem to have an issue on ICS.
Going to play with it a ton more today so we shall see what the battery is going to do on a full charge.

You charging with the included Samsung charger, or off USB?

I ask because the newest devices seem to prefer high-rate chargers (.8-1.0 amp), and most USB ports won't deliver that.

After two days, I'll say I'm quite happy. I'm unlocked and rooted, I have the phone more or less set up the way I want, and I have 25% battery left after a day. The only thing I did to get that was set brightness to 15%. Didn't go and shut off every options to be a battery miser.

I look forward to the 4.0.3 release to improve contact sync, but that's not major. Perhaps they'll add some tweaks to the camera, but that's also (for me) not major - I use a real camera when I'm picky about the result.

Light Flow should give you the ability to put an LED notification on the "Charging battery" and "Charged battery" system events. This may only be in the paid edition, but even that's only $2. Also you may need to be rooted to use it.

Coming from the og, of course I'm going to be impressed lol. but here's is a list of the things I love and things are not so impressed with.
what I'm loving about it, screen, speed, the new talk to text google app, auto correct on the keyboard is phenomenal! The voice on google maps navigation is better. More realistic.

What I don't like, but can be fixed when some roms are created are google search widget stuck on the screen, no search key on the soft keys.

I'm not quite sure what tho use three dots are for considering Verizon's interest in this phone is non existent. Therefore, the car dock sucks and doesn't take advantage of those dots.

Overall, I love the phone but do notice little hiccups here and there. Which is to be expected. it's kind of the reason I got the phone. to be 1 of the first to experience ice cream sandwich.

This next sentence I'm going to type using just the voice typing app. I'm not gonna make any corrections to it I'm talking as a normal speed so, if you don't have a nexus. Just give you an idea of how well it picks up what you're saying, or lack of lol it just depends. Eyemagine it's going to get a little better as I use it considering that it learns from you.

Re-posted here being a good thread for this opinion of mine below thus far the Galaxy Nexus :)

HA thing is there will never be a perfect phone, device, computer or whatever. But hey whatever works for you! I am loving my Galaxy Nexus and so is my g/f loving hers which isn't unlocked or rooted yet and no special tweaks she has no complaints yet with phone right out of the box. Few tweaks thus far on mine and quite pleased. As another poster wrote it will only get better from here since this is a fully unlockable root device.

As for the Galaxy Nexus being plastic I think a good compromise for it being lightweight. I really don't want to carry around metal brick :)

I have had no problems whatsoever with signal for voice calls or sound quality of calls, 3g data or 4g. Picked up a 4g signal yesterday when traveling into a 4g area and it worked like a charm getting amazing download and upload speeds on speedtest. In my house I actually get a slightly better 3g signal then I did with my D1 :)

Sharpness of the Camera not particularly impressed. Better pictures then my D1. Interestingly though if you go into 'edit' for a picture and click 'sharpen' once and save it, this drastically improves sharpness of a picture taken with the GN. My guess is Google will resolve the sharpness issue in upcoming ROM update or a custom ROM maker will.

Oh and I do at the moment miss 'Car Home' when docking my GN in the car. I haven't come up with or come across a solution for that yet :)
