Eh idk about that. I know some Rat Rods that cost more money then a simply Restomod would cost. While yes the style is a bit outlandish, I have to give them my respect for doing what they do. They don't take a Mustang or Camaro and make it like every other one out there, they take a car and make it into a 1 of a kind automobile, no plans, no instructions, just hard work. Even if you dislike them, you gotta have a degree of respect for them.

Also @ Altspeed favoring the McLaren over the Bugatti. I agree 100%, the McLaren maybe slower on the top, but its a different kind of beast, it was born and bred for the race track and you can't beat that. Gimme that MP4-12C any day over that Veyron.

...and I never heard of a Bruce VEYRON dominating can am until the 917 turbo panzer came along and killed the series

Rat rods are not cheap to build. They have all the high end engine/suspension /interiors with a distressed body. Its a look more than a budget or cost issue. I love em.

Not entirely true. A LOT of rats are amazing pieces of ingenuity built with 40-50 year old salvage yard technology, others are, like you say...an LT1 in a rat suit. i like the former much more personally, 2 or 3 thou and a lot of hard ass work and primer.

I agree with you all whole heartily, I love the ingenuity and finesse of some of the builds, but I still notice a lot of crap duct taped together that ruins it for the people that do it well. Just my personal observation.

A lot of cars can smoke a veyron. Lol especially if they're worked like that gtr.

The new gt2 turbo does the same 0-60 stock let alone with slight work.
I'm a Porsche fan when it comes to speed there's no better engineering then what Porsche does.
