When Will the ThunderBolt Be Available for Purchase

it would have to be 'within' two weeks otherwise the option to return it wouldn't exist :)
I meant the release date was outside of two weeks. Sorry for the confusion

wait, now i'm confused. lol. you said 'outside' in the first post!
Haha, I'm saying if he wants to get a new device/battery and the return period is 14 days and the rep said wait until you have the TB in site, it's pretty apparent that the sales rep doesn't think the TB will be out for at least another 14 days.

Well with Assurion there is something stating that you have to leave the new devie active for X period of time.. I know I could get around that. My personal issue would be spending $50 to claim and lose $50 towards my Tbolt.

Within 2 weeks.. thats what I took from it.. of course def not official and gives no dates, but telling me to return the battery when I get my TB gives me something within the 14 day window to hope for..

I thought the smart phone claim was $90 now? Which would set you back even more toward the TB.

You are in a bind my friend...

Sure there are blind Apple fan boys (and girls) everywhere but to generalize to the extend you have is a bit ridiculous.

-You know that many people do not shop on specs alone
-You know that specs alone absolutely in no way make a good (or the best) product
-The quality of materials, design, and finish on the iPhone is untouched
-The iPhone simply works, an idiot can use it, that is both good and bad, but more good
-They have the higest resolution screen (or at least did until very recently)
-Have the largest app market
-iPhones can be jailbroken and modded, there has always been a small communty of enthusiasts who do some great things with their Apple stuff, phones and otherwise

P.S. I do not have nor do I want an iPhone...

Cheers

Actually you're kind of proving my point - not only does the iPhone appeal to the bonehead mass audience, but also enthusiasts. It really is an impressive device in that respect. I work in the IT industry and I will tell you, the majority of my colleagues - all very knowledgeable and geeky in their own right - prefer the iPhone. One of the main appeals is that there is so much support for it - so many resources available, and the hardware and software are consistent. I can totally understand that. I still think the Android is a superior platform in almost every way, but the iPhone is certainly the most consistent device.

Which really just furthers my argument that more current Android and Blackberry users will be switching to the iPhone when their contract is up. Verizon was wrong about how many people would immediate jump ship from AT&T just for an identical phone on Verizon - but they will win over a lot of converts as contracts expire.

ok, i'm following you now, but i got that the rep was saying he could get the replacement phone and be able to return in within 14 days... kinda hinting that he thought the TB would be available within those 14 days.

I think we could leave it at the OP being extremely vague? Haha.

But I'm getting extremely frustrated with Verizon right now. They're not giving us anything with regard to their first 4g phone.

how can the thunderbolt be released on the 28th? that's a monday... i thought new phones became available on thursdays. since the phone didn't come out today it's clearly going to be in march... the question is when in march.

there's a link posted in this thread, maybe 2 pages before this page, to a different thread where unlimited 4g data will be 29.00. that's exactly what i'm paying now. with the price remaining the same i dont really see a reason to not seriously look into the thunderbolt again if my monthly bill will remain exactly the same. yeah i'll have to spend money on the phone and accessories but considering all the benefits of the phone i think it could be worth it.

will accessories (shell/holster combo... high gloss silicone case... car charger... spare battery... extended battery) be available at launch as well?

There isn't any 'real' info from VZW and it can be frustrating... but at the same time, can you imagine the disaster it would be for their first 4G device to roll out with issues because of apps that were advertised (Skype) or the LTE network itself?

As much backlash as they may be getting now, it would be ten fold if they released this device and it wasn't ready. It would tarnish VZW's 4G.... IMO, it's worth it for them to tarnish the name of 1 device (or at least create some anger for it not being released) rather than letting the whole LTE network crash and burn.

The whole monday release thing is just speculation, and is going to be a let down as usual. I would assume they'll release it some Thursday in March. Whether it's the 3rd or the 31st, your guess is as good as mine. With no word from Verizon, it's looking to be mid/later March.

As for accessories, since the phone has been delayed, and from what I've heard from VZW/BB stores, the accessories were getting shipped without any phone in stock. I would think it'd be safe to assume that the accessories will all be in place by then (although extended battery wasn't until early April, from what I saw)

They're saying the delay is do to Verizon not properly preparing the 4g network so mid-march it is.No exact date so that can go back even farther which can also delay the Bionic smh Vzw really disappointed me now they're behind with the "4g" mess

Yeah I keep hearing that the smartphone is $90 on a claim too, but they only hit me for $50 .. idk.. its not the first time I get offers like that.. I can't explain it but the reason I am with Verizon is becuase of things like that and other random discounts I get on my bills, plans, lines.. I don't ask why they give me things for cheaper I just say OK and go on with my day.. Has worked for 10 years and don't plan on changing.. heck got my D1 for $50 right when it came out.. but thats for another thread..
