I highly doubt that apple having something named thunderbolt will stop the release of this phone.
When you search for the trademark of "thunderbolt" you get 44 live hits (ranging from VZW, to a riffle scope, to a herbicide for crops) of those, 26 are only the word thunderbolt, others are thunderbolt raceway etc....Granted this could be two tech companys going at it but it is quite obvious that you can have two products with the same name or branding.
The term published for opposition means that anyone that is qualified can apply to have the trademark revoked, meaning only if you stand to lose something by another using the same trademark can you apply to force them to stop using it.
I am shocked, and somewhat appalled, that all you think that it is apple that is "winning" this dispute (if there is one) over the thunderbolt trademark. Who says it isnt VZW going after apple seeing how it is their name that comes up when a trademark search is done? As I understand it the new apple laptops are already out with intel "thunderbolt" tech in them(IDK if its intel or apples name, I dont follow either company).
If it is apples name it very well could be a complicated issue for VZW to go after them due to the relationship they just kicked off with the iphone...
Sorry for the long post, back on topic, I don't see this phone dropping until March. As others have stated phones are usually released on a Thursday, seeing how there are no more Thursdays to be had in Feb....I don't see this phone getting a special release on Monday, best case March 3rd or 10th. Not going to hold my breath though...
