"Developed by Intel (under the code name Light Peak), "

It appears your right. I heard about it on twit live last night and they refered to it as light peak. Looks like that was the code name for it.

If thats the case then this has NOTHING to do with Apple ETC ETC ETC. Its the name of intels tech. Just so happens Apple benefits from this one with pie on the face of HTC.

I think we've seen by now that Verizon is HORRIBLE in the release department.

PS-^ If skype is the reason....that would be the dumbest thing Ive ever heard of.

Why's that? I'm pretty sure many many people won't be buying the XOOM for a bit since it's missing a game-changing feature called "Flash". Since the XOOM is releasing I'm sure first week sales won't be as good as they could have been. And the Thunderbolt being the first LTE device, releasing it without features people want would be suicide to the new Verizon phone. Since it lacks the "Droid" name it will already have to hold its own as the "Droid" name attracts many consumers.

Skype is by no means a "game changing" feature.....and being software could be released/updated at anytime.....Obviously Verizon or anybody else would rather get the phone out and add that "feature" later, rather than have everyone get pissed about a late late release. I can guarantee the absence of Skype isnt going to keep anybody who wants the phone from buying it now.

So they have the phones in the stores?

sent from stock dx

She said they had all the materials, I didn't press her on stock. She was dealing with another customer and I was asking questions in between. I didn't have much time to spend. After I checked out the demo I left.

It would only take a day for Corp. to get the devices delivered.

If I was htc and Verizon ceo I would definately have an issue with intell and apples Thunderbolt technology as infringing on my business

I have officially lost interest in the TB. I'm an impatient person, so I won't be holding out any longer to upgrade. I think I'm gonna go with the Droid Inc and upgrade the battery with Seidios 3500 mAh. Is this phone a good substitute for the TB, aside from the screen size???

Not trying to argue so I'll just state this: There hasn't been a release date ("Q1") so it can't be a "late" release.

Releasing a phone without flash is one thing but releasing a phone with a FFC but no ability to video call is different.

It's the same reason that Verizon doesn't want anyone to advertise simultaneous voice and data. "The HTC Thunderbolt is the first phone capable simultaneous voice and data but the network quality your phone receives might suck because of it" Don't see that anywhere because it will hinder their status of being the "most reliable network".

It would be like the XOOM being advertised as 4G ready but the 4G network isn't working so it will get an upgrade to make it work in the near future.

I'm sure Verizon would love to rush a release with missing features though. That would be the best decision to help their new LTE network grow. I'm sure you're 100% absolutely no doubt correct.

K end rant. I'm done. Sorry if I'm being uncivil, but calling someone's speculation dumb is completely uncalled for.
