When Will the ThunderBolt Be Available for Purchase

All I can say is that I am feeling pretty stupid for obsessing over this phone and its release date. Geez.

Why? roflol….look at how many others are obsessing over it.

It's a mystery to me why this phone is getting so much attention, really but don't feel stupid, not at all.

Only reason it's getting this much attention is because Verizon has 'delayed' it so long. But this is getting a bit ridiculous I have to say. Really thinking about waiting for the Bionic and making it my first Smartphone.

i got a new phone back in december and i still check this thread and verizon everyday looking for more information on this phone or to see that it was released silently. it'll happen eventually

So since I'm bored watching Man on Fire, I decided to go live chat with Best Buy because it's fun.

Me: Hello Dick. I pre ordered the HTC Thunderbolt in store a couple days ago and they told me to come in and pick it up on Thursday the 24th. I went in that day and the guy at the mobile center got all snotty with me and said they don't have the phones. I was just wondering when I'll be able to pick it up.
Dick: [AUTOMATED RESPONSE] Verizon's first 4G LTE Phone the HTC Thunderbolt should have been released Monday Valentines Day, and we will be carrying it. The release date has been officially postponed to a date unannounced. Due to the high demand we are now offering a pre-order in store only. This has not been announced yet, and the add we published was printed before Verizon changed the release date. I really do apologize about this, and please be paitent for this new 4G phone from Verizon.

Just got back from the Verizon store down the road. I was there to help out a family member so I wasn't there for the Thunderbolt. I did hear the word said though. A Verizon rep was helping a guy out with some issue and I heard the customer say Thunderbolt. The rep left so I asked the guy if he was given a date. He said Verizon won't have it for another two weeks that Best Buy gets to have it exclusively for 2 weeks. I acted like I bought what he was saying and went on to my business.

At this point, I am not buying anything I hear until Verizon says something or folks start getting the phones at Best Buy.

If I had to guess why this is so popular

1 4G lte
2 No new VZW HTC phones since april or may about a year.
3 Motorola VZW had released D2,D2G, R2D2, Pro, DX is the same time period.
4 It's new and delayed.
5 It's not fruit

What confuses me Mr me is so many new users to DF in these TB threads who don't own a set yet. Nothing wrong with not owning one yet; it just seems backwards.

I wish that a new dual core HTC phone would be coming. Then I would be all over that instead of this. Then the Thunderbolt would come out and I'd be like OMG ITS OUT and I'd buy it. But there's not so... obsession continues.

Yeah right The only dual core HTC is "Pyramid" coming to Tmobile "some time". I was hoping to see one at MWC but was very disappointed. I'll wait for the Tbolt. Kind of annoyed with the "Best Buy Exclusive" though since I can't use my early upgrade at BB.

HTC Merge is coming out this spring to North American retailers lol...

Name me a phone that is unlocked with the same specs and hardware or better.

Or a phone with better hardware that will actually update their phones (Samsung...) and doesn't bloat their phones to hell (Moto).
