When Will the ThunderBolt Be Available for Purchase

on a side note - did anyone get the Seidio battery? Is $50 worth the jump from 1400 to 1600? I'm not sure if I should get it or not.

I am heavily debating it right now as well. The extra 1400 batteries from Verizon will be at least $40, if not $50, so might as well get the bigger Seidio. But is the 1600 going to grant that much extra usage (could be a minimal capacity gain, and might even drain faster than an OEM battery would)? Or do I want the 2750 from HTC instead? Can I wait that long for it to come out, and will the extra bulk drive me crazy trying to pocket it and/or find a case that fits? I'm very close to pulling the trigger on the Seidio so I can have it later this week, along with their Innocase Surface and possibly a screen protector.

Let us know what you decide and why...an extra battery is always nice to have around.

i dont know if the thunderbolt has the same design as the inspire 4g on att because i was watching a video on it and the battery just slides in and he said that the battery fits perfectly so a battery that is physically larger wouldnt fit (kinda hard to explain). if thats the case then that wouldnt be too good for this phone

No the TB battery does not slide in like the inspire it works like the other phones were you open up the back and put it in. If it did slide how would HTC make extended batteries w/new covers. Also there are plenty of videos on YouTube showing the tbs battery.

I took one look at Motoblur and said "NO WAY". A "Social" UI isn't the thing for me. I don't put my life on a webpage. I'll take Sense any day.

A OS to optimize dual cores in phones hasn't even been released and since Bionic is supposed to ship with Froyo (from what we've heard so far), you would be 2 full versions behind.

I'm buying the Thunderbolt on a 1-year contract so I can buy a 2nd gen dual core that might actually double the processing power. For now they only do about 10-30% more than single core devices. By that time a 2nd gen dual core that is optimized with a dual core OS should be released.

Sorry I'm behind the power curve Twix but is VZ or BB going to sell the Bolt on a 1 year contract? How much?

Bb doesn't do one year contracts just so you know and people don't think dual core is utilized it is motor said they tweaked 2.2 so both cores are supported an example is the atrix any dual core phone will eat the bolt alive your being an HTC fanbot twix sense ui does the same social intergration

I don't know how many here pre-ordered with BB, but I convinced them to refund mine in cash tonight. Originally BB seemed like the best deal to me because they were extending their free buy back program to the 26th, which at the time (2/6) was plenty of time, but that time has passed so it's cheaper to use my $30 NE2. Just very disappointed to walk out with $50 cash instead of my new TB.

I sure hope so..
I called 4 different verizon stores in my area and got 4 different answers as to when it will be released. one store said today, but I tend to think they are wrong. Of course I will stop by to make sure.

I really think 3/3 is the day folks. Nobody at the stores will say it but I really believe this. I like the thunder story...I heard a couple of rumbles of thunder myself overnight....more to come tonight
