Who is waiting for the OTA ICS??

It's gonna take them THAT long to fix the effing install script so it doesn't fail on certain devices? Wow, Moto is getting WORSE with updates, not even close to BETTER.

No. It's going to take moto a week or two to fix it and then VZW 4-6 weeks to certify it. Thank you, VZW.

Great... just installed the 232 update and now my entire phone is messed up. It is totally freezing up. Will not get a phone signal. I've done several battery pulls.
Is this normal after updating? HELP!

It gives two options:
wipe data/factory reset or wipe cache partition
Which one?

Wipe cache partition. If that doesn't work, you're going to need to do a factory reset which WILL lose data but will make it stable again. But start with a cache wipe and reboot.

Not working. Wiped cache partition. Took 5 minutes to pull up home screen icons. No apps are starting up. no verizon connection.
Do I go back and do that factory reset option? Will that take me back to original phone setting operating system?

What the....Before going that route.....go back into recovery and apply the update again. Before rebooting, wipe the cache again, then reboot. If that doesn't work....options are limited to keep your data and fix it. No clue what your phone is doing. You said it was stock....and I've not seen anyone having issues like this with 232.

Man I am so upset right now! I've waited all this time afraid to update for this reason.
Is this the right update? Bionic 5.9.232 New Leak 7/6/2012 - Android Forums(Thank you for helping me through this btw)

Reinstalled update, wiped cache before reboot, SAME THING.
Can I go back to 902 without losing data?

We verified the update zip earlier with the MD5 hashes so I know it's the right one. Sadly, this kind of issue could have just as easily happened on the OTA. Better to get it fixed now IMO.

NEVER post a phone number on a forum! And no, I don't do that kind of support. Follow this:

Shttp://www.droidforums.net/forum/mo...-5-893-fxz-901-902-compatible-902-update.htmlpecifically step 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. (Don't worry about cdt.bin....that won't be an issue). I don't know if that will delete data or not. I don't believe it will. But it'll get you directly back to 905. Again, though, if this isn't working, I'd be very weary of taking the official ICS build cause you're likely to run into the same issue and you WON'T be able to go back from that. Ever.

I will help but I don't do personalized help. You couldn't afford my hourly rate. :D What I posted will get you back to 905. Can't promise about with no data loss.
