Who is waiting for the OTA ICS??

Words of advice from a STOCK 905 user that tried to update to 232 yesterday.... DON'T DO IT (unless you are experienced in flashing and understand complicated ways to get back to 905). I literally spent 9 hours from beginning to end with no break for dinner to get my phone back to working order. Ics didn't work correctly, had to go back to 905, lost all data and wasted my day. It made my data drops seem insignificant in comparison to having a bricked phone.

That's true of any modifications to your phone. You should always know how to undo what you do to your phone...whether it's how to uninstall an application you install or unrooting or reverting to a previous version of the OS. What is "complicated" to some isn't to others. It takes time, patience, and reading, but, there's really not much complicated about installing a script or using RSD. There are step by step guides, hell I think there are even youtube videos of it, that show you what to do. It can be time consuming, sure, but, if you take the time to follow one of the many step by step guides it's not too difficult. You got back to 905. It just took time.

Lol @ people waiting for the ics update when they can just easily install the 232, which isnt going to be much different from the ota update.

And “early Q3"... now september? lmao... have fun waiting!

Funny thing is I have ZERO (0) issues with this phone on GB. Tried to flash one of the earlier 4 digit leaks like a month ago and my phone got a boot error and I would have ended up like the convo in this thread but I was able to get back to 902 easily. Not everyone HAS to install leaked versions of a new os because of 4g problems. Oh and thank you, I will have fun, but I wont be 'waiting'

That is true....not everyone has to flash a leak. Not everyone has to take an OTA update, either. If you're happy with your phone, then leave it as is. Others who aren't, might be looking for a way to make things better.

We can hope. I had read the week of Aug 7 originally. A delay of a week or two isn't all that bad all things considered.

I am actually glad that not everyone flashes the leaks. This place would be boring without all of the bionics suck threads. And there are plenty of used bionics on CraigsList from people who have not experienced ics. But for those of us who do want to move forward, we have the best devs in the world taking time out of their lives to help us out and for that I am grateful.

No. It's going to take moto a week or two to fix it and then VZW 4-6 weeks to certify it. Thank you, VZW.

LOL somehow I can't see how VZW is even qualified to "certify" an installer made by Motorola. If there's one thing i've learned about Verizon, it's that they don't know squat about hardware. And with the quality of some of the crap oses i've seen them "certify" in the past, somehow i'm not comfortable with them doing so.

These two paragraphs are interesting...

Apparently, the Droid Bionic’s Ice Cream Sandwich release date, which has been pegged for arrival in early Q3 by Motorola, would have already arrived had the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich updates been flawless.

However, as we know, both of those updates came with several bugs on board which apparently delayed the roll out. The companies involved are evidently trying to ensure that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Droid Bionic won’t have the same bugs that those two devices have.

If that's true, it helped that the Bionic didn't get it first, otherwise we'd be complaining about the bugs rather than the delay. In any event we'd find something to complain about. :)

Probably why it takes them so long to certify it. "Uh, Jack? We got a new update for this bionic thingie from Motorola. We need to certify it. You know how to actually install it?" "Uh, Jim, no, I an't got a clue. Maybe ask Cindy in accounting if she knows."

Not waiting. I've never been one to sit on the sidelines and watch stuff happen. I make it happen. .232 is running so smooth I don't know how anybody wouldn't want it.

*LOL* Cindy in accounting didn't know - but she asked her 5 year old and he had no issues teaching her LMAO!
