Just wondered. Guess I'm always nervous doing this stuff, but I have already thought I wrecked the phone a few weeks ago, but I was blessed to fix it, so I guess there is really no reason NOT to do this stuff. It is fun when it works!
On 232 it's fairly safe as you can always, as a last resort, FXZ back to 905 and become stock again. 235 and above will be more challenging until we get a new ICS FXZ, but, I've bricked myself a couple times on 235 and used my mini-FXZ to recover. So, I always say be careful, BACKUP YOUR DATA, and in the end you should be fine.
Well, I successfully flashed .235 instead of .232 (not exactly what I planned on doing, but that is another sad story). So far I really am happy, so if an FXZ is never developed, I guess I'm okay anyway! I am constantly amazed at what y'all are able to do with these programs. It took me the better part of the afternoon to do this! At any rate, I am finished for the time being, I am happy, and I learned a LOT today. Thank you for all you do and all of your help!
Um, WOOPS comes to mind! 235 as you know locks you in place for the time being. Once a new build comes out we can move you forward. If 235 becomes OTA, well, you're good to go. If a new build is released, it will need to be evaluated before anyone jumps to it. However it should be possible with the tools we have. Sit tight and enjoy.
Same here. I feel like the ota update is basically gonna be .235 or a slightly modified version of it.
The only issue i have with it is that for some ODD reason i cant play flash videos on websites. If i try to play them itll act like its gonna play but instead crash the browser to where it freezes it. I then have to turn the phone off and on again to be able to use the browser. This happens on both on the stock browser as well as others that ive downloaded from play.
Yea, the problem is definitely not consistent that's for sure. But it does seem Moto ICS doesn't play well with flash. And I don't see any attempt to fix it from Moto or Adobe.
Fortunately I have my BlackBerry Playbook which DOES support flash. I use the PB for videos more than I do my phone. I wish I could do everything with one device, but I have learned to find the strengths in each device and roll with it. Maybe not the Best answer, but it's the answer I have right now.
No flash support on ICS is a deal breaker for me.... If they aren't able to co-exist in the actual ICS OTA, then I'll be staying on .901 fully rooted and Eclipse3.0'd on which 'EVERYTHING' works perfectly...
