Who's planning on getting the Droid Turbo?

I don't know about that bottom curved chin...very strange looking. 5.2" displays are big, and you can see by looking at it this is going to be extra big relative to most 5.2" displays

Still thinking the first Moto X for $300 new might be the best value out there.

You mean the no longer available Moto X 1st Gen???

I wish someone could convince me that this is that much better than my Droid Maxx. It's got some awesome specs, but the Maxx already does everything you could need. I need someone to nudge me towards the purchase counter...I do like having the latest and greatest but is it that much better? Other Maxx owners dropping $200 on this?

Then you should save your money. Maybe something incredible comes out in 6-12 months, maybe not. In either case, if your phone does everything you need then why the need to spend your money frivolously?
That's what I'm thinking. Wonder if this will be the last Droid though. Even if it is, I could get it cheaper 6 months from now. Though I won't be able to resist swinging by Verizon to at least check it out.... that could be trouble.

I went from OG Droid to Bionic to Maxx...

I'm not sure its the last Droid. As long as Verizon and Moto are making money from them....there would be no reason to end their contract to make a new Droid every year. They are still a pretty popular phone...lots of hype every year when the new one is released....which equals dollars in the bank.

Not gonna be the last droid.. The maxx, ultra, and mini were the last droids as per the old agreement between moto and vzw, but last year vzw went back under contract with moto and made it so all droids will now be only from moto.. Remember the droid dna from htc, I think it was? So now all droids will be moto..

I played with the MAXX today to get a feel for a Droid. While I was there, I did VZW a favor, I updated all the MAXX's to KK. I've got the my phone beside me, they ought to be calling me any minute now ;):D

I'm still using a Razr Maxx. It has a hardware limitation that it can't support USB OTG since most devices require 5v from the port. Is this something Motorola added in the latest devices? This is a big deal for me with getting a new phone. I'm looking to be able to plug in SD readers and jump drives via USB OTG cable... manage with ES File Explorer.

Didn't see a reply here, so I will take a stab.

I believe that since the Razr MAXX, they have fixed/updated to support USB OTG. I am quite confident that the Turbo will support it.

I thought so too.. But I found out when I went from the g3 to my Maxx... They reused my Sim in the Maxx...This was just last weekend..

Remember how you used to dial *287 and go through the prompts?? With this.. You go into my Verizon and you manually enter the Sim number.. It has to be previously associated with that number, or a fresh new Sim. But yes, they just put the number from my old Maxx Sim into the blank and in 30 Seconds it was getting 4g.

It was in "device" I didn't look further.. But yes.. I too, thought.. Well now I can actively swap between devices without pulling sims

Well, we're partly right. We can use an old SIM, but if you get a new SIM, the system flaggs it for 90 days and won't allow any changes to the SIM number online. They can change it at the store or over the phone, but the customer portal on the web is disabled until the new SIM is aged 90 days, so I'm stuck till then. Apparently once the SIM is 90 days I will be able to swap my phone number to the old SIM and back to the new SIM every 5 minutes if I wanted to.

I am not totally sure why this flagging takes place but I suspect it has something to do with abuse or some attempts to get two SIMs active at the same time on one phone number. Purely speculation but what other reason could there be?
