Who's planning on getting the Droid Turbo?

I bought my new Turbo at retail today and had no problem turning in an old (but still very serviceable) 1st gen Droid Incredible for a $100 credit. AND, I guess because I did it in store rather than on line, it was not a gift card to be used on a future purchase, but rather a $100 discount off of the $599 retail price. New Turbo for $499 (plus tax). BTW, the rep looked the Incredible up on their rebate chart. If they weren't having this promotion the trade in value would have been $6. NICE!

EDIT: Technically it wasn't a $100 "discount". The rep entered the trade info into their system, generated a gift card, and then used the card toward the purchase.

Sounds like you had a rep who didn't mind bending the rules a little bit. ;)

Either that or they have a different in-store policy than online...but that wouldn't make much sense since they try to encourage those who want to buy at full retail to buy online rather than in-store.

Bsweetness you are correct once again. My email does not contain that info, omission on their behalf. That being said I am going to whine like a little 3 year old til I get my way at the store. Change of plans, 2 VZW stores in my daily ritual, stop by the first one and if they honor it I will buy, if not move on to store 2.

I didn't have to beg or plead, and the rep didn't act like it was anything out of the ordinary. I said I was buying a phone at retail, here's my trade in. He said OK. We did the transaction!

Just an update, I did indeed get a hundred smackeroos off the price of my phone, via a BlackBerry storm that would hold a charge for about 30 minutes. And I had to hammer the battery flatter to get the back cover on. Not a hassle in the world. Don't tell FoxKat I abuse batteries.

I would love, love, love to get the new Droid Turbo!

I made the "mistake" of stopping by the Verizon store on my way to the Sprint store to pick up a new HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition...

I was blown away by the Turbo - it's specs are crazy and it is beautiful (in the ballistic nylon)!

I just wish Verizon had a plan as good as what I get with Sprint - 500 anytime minutes and unlimited text and unlimited data, etc - for $50/month.

That Droid Turbo is beautiful!

Anyone go from a Razr MAXX HD to the Turbo yet? I'm really on the fence. My HD is fine sometimes, but then it gets laggy, battery is losing its duration. I mean, I'm in questionable service areas from time to time so I need a good battery.

So, is the camera better? This one sucks.
Is the battery that awesome?

I'm just afraid going to fall for the spec sheet again and in 6 months be right back with the "same" phone I have now and a lighter wallet.

I didn't come from an HD version, but I did come from an older RAZR Maxx. I had many laggy performance issues with it in the last 6 months or so of ownership. Before that I had a worse experience with a Droid 2. I was about to say never again until the Droid Turbo came out. Nothing else on the market came close for me and what I wanted out of a phone. I decided to give Motorola one last chance to redeem themselves. So far I'm extremely happy I did! I absolutely love the Droid Turbo!!! Now, I'm only about 3 weeks into ownership so time will tell, but with stock android on board and separate moto apps I can turn off if they get buggy I'm quite optimistic of a happy future as well. I'd recommend you get the phone. Good luck on your decision making!
