Why an app for Facebook instead of browser? Looking for a GOOD FB app? Look here!

That's odd. I have them turned off and the only time I see anything about fv is when someone posts a personal status about it. Nothing from the app itself appears for me in bloo, but I know I have friends playing it.
ok, SOME HOW SOME way they got turned back on, now they are being displayed on my facebook.com "FULL SITE" when browsing with the browser

my mission is to turn those annoying things off

EDIT: OMFG.... I can't find the settings to turn those FUC**NG things offf PLEASE HELP....

Depending what kind of notifications they are, it's easier from the pc. Hold you mouse over the "story" and you'll have an option to hide or remove. Click that and you can disable ALL fv notifications.

Also, it would be great if we could have manual notifications. I don't want the notification service running in the background, but unless I set it to, I can never see notifications from within the app.

If that's what you want, you're probably better off with the stock app. One of the main things i like about bloo is that my phone notifies me when I have new comments/etc. If you just want to manually check them, that's about all the stock app is good for imo.
Why artificially limit the functionality? Bloo is better written than the stock app for viewing images, and not kicking you out to the browser.

WTF..... from the computer I have option to hide all farmville but from the droid "FULLSITE" there is no such option. reason being my work blocks facebook.com so I had to McGyver my way into it *mums the word on that lil tid bit of info*

As previously stated in this thread, the comments issue is an issue with recent Facebook changes that are unseen when you're on the computer. It hadn't bothered me to much so far, as I generally respond when there's only been one or two comments left, so it's not hard to remember what was said. Hopefully, the dev is working on figuring our that issue.

My point was it doesn't work so I uninstalled it until it does. I'm very happy it doesn't bother you though. Wonder why it's a FB issue if the stock app still works fine without an update to correct the problem.

I tried using Bloo to post a comment on my wall. When I hit the comment button it said I have to have permission from Facebook and took me there. When I press "Accept" it gave an error message and the post didn't go through. Same thing with the Inbox button.

Log in from your pc to facebook, click account in the upper right, click application settings. From there, find the drop down menu and select "authorized". Find Bloo and set permissions that way.

OK, they're all checked. I'll have to try it again. Thanks.

Just wanted to update anyone following this thread who's interested to know...

I'm currently beta testing the new chat feature for bloo!!! I've been in contact with the dev most of the day and we've been putting chat through it's paces. He's told me that he still has some polishing to do and I've come up with some things for him to look into, but it's really an AWESOME feature so far!! Can't wait to see his finished product!

No official word yet on when he's going to release the update featuring chat, but he DID say that he's hoping to release it in the next day or two depending on how much work it takes to fix the issues he was aware of and any that I've reported which he can recreate himself and figure out a fix for.

Also, not sure if I mentioned this already in this thread, but he's posted on his site that it appears that Facebook has fixed the issue with missing comments. He had attempted to contact them with no response, but so far they seem to be working again.

Any word on a widget?

Not this time around. He's posted in his update news that he decided to postpone the widget to work on chat, so maybe now that he's got chat started, he'll go back to working on a widget. No promises though. I haven't asked about a widget because I don't think I'd use one. Also, as great as chat is so far, I'm sure he'll have other stuff to tweak, adjust, and add to it.

Can I ask what's the use of a facebook widget? To see your friends' updates, or to post yours more quickly?

I have the stock app's widget and a selection of 3 sizes from touiteur for twitter, but I never use them. Every time I put the fb one on the homescreen, I end up taking it of that same day. They rarely stay as up-to-date as I'd like, and then they take up too much space fit a quick way to post if they have other people's updates as well.

Just my opinion. Wondering what the big deal is. :D

Tried this at your recommendation...program is not functioning...something is screwy.

I started it up, clicked the get code, put the code back into Bloo and logged in. It showed me the start-up screen, and even said <My Name Here> Check out your wall and profile.

HOWEVER, when I click on my name, it tells me that I'm not friends with that person (!). Also, clicking on Friends will reveal my friends' names, but selecting a friend tells me, again, that I am not friends with that person. The Feed is blank, no matter how many times I refresh it, and despite the fact that even the cruddy "stock" FB app shows me all of this missing stuff.

The only thing that seems to work is Photos.

I have gone into FB through my PC, and I have gone to the Application authorizing page, and I have made sure that Bloo for Android is there, and I have checked all three boxes in the additional permissions tab, and still nothing.

I tried rebooting in case that was an issue, but all that did was clear out my login code, and I had to generate a new one and re-login.

Have you seen this before? Any advice? I really dig the set-up, and I'd like it to work...

How long have you had it installed and authorized? Sometimes it takes some time. I HAVE heard of this issue before, but can't remember what the solution is. I should be in contact with the dev again later today, so I'll see what he says. Hang tight!

They're working now. The dev had posted in a forum for facebook app devs about the issue, along with other devs. Facebook never responded, but comments are working again.

The reason the stock app will sometimes work when bloo doesn't is because the stock app is a "trusted partner" and bloo is simply a third party app. Facebook api handles those types of apps differently, unfortunately.

thanks for the quick reply...i've only just installed it, so maybe that's the issue...sorry if i missed that disclaimer somewhere; my eyes are burned out from scouring threads about getting the stock FB widget working. i'll sit tight and update in a few hours if there's no development. Thanks again!
