Will you return the nexus if the signal is not fixed?

I wan't aware of the data outage this morning until reading the forum. Data has been fading in and out since I got this thing. The first one had battery issues that couldn't be resolved. This one has poor signal strength as measured in dBm/asu, unreliable data, and poor call quality.

Could be another lemon, but I'm just not sure after reading all of these reports of issues affecting so many different users.

Why do people come into threads like this to defend a phone like it's their baby? Why are you even posting in this thread if you're not having radio issues?

I was at my office today and had both my Rezound, and my Nexus with me. I was able to use my Rezound to place phone calls and browse the web LTE coverage while my Nexus sat there like a pretty paper weight because it had no signal at all. It's NOT an issue of the phone showing less "bars"(which are useless anyways) but the fact that this phone drops signal or gets no signal in places where other handsets do.

I wont keep the phone if their is no resolution to the connectivity issues because I don't feel like exchanging one Lemon for another. I don't know what the odds of that happening are, but I know that it's NOT worth a $ 650 investment if it's not fixed.

So people should only post if they're having a signal issue? What kind of biased view would that result in?

Regardless of when your trial period is up, if there were fundamental flaws with the device that didnt allow it to function as intended you could get it corrected/swapped as a warranty issue.

That said, anyone who thinks that Google would allow a Nexus device to suffer critical flaws is crazy. It is the only Google device currently available. They will make it perform at a high level, period, in my opinion.

I agree

Well said. I don't understand these folks that feel the need to go into threads about people having issues and try to argue with them and make it out like there is nothing wrong. If you aren't having issues quit trolling issue threads just to stir things up. There are many of us out here that have legitimate complaints about the Gnex. We aren't just making this stuff up. If I just didn't like it I would take it back. Plain and simple. But I like it and want to like it more. But if I can't use my phone for the purpose that I bought it for what is the point of even having it???

People who dont have issues post because this thread is a poll. The whole point of this thread is to see what everyone's opinion is

I dont think anyone is questioning people's complaints, but moreso just stating that they might not be having the same issues...

Not necessarily in this particular thread. But I see it in many others. Mine was more of a blanket statement and not directed towards anyone in particular.

I see both points here. I understand people getting frustrated that they are not getting the same or close to the same reception of other lte devices. I too feel the same way. Yes we all know not to trust the bars. But if the bars was at 2 bars but everything was running great then this would not be an issue. Its the fact that people are seeing that in areas where the normally had no problems with lte they are having it with the nexus. I know that I am in a strong lte area and with my thunderbolt had no issues. With my Nexus one minute its holding 2 bars strong 4g next minute its at 1x and that gets annoying. Especially when i look and see that my tbolt is almost 30 points better than the Galaxy Nexus. (-108 on gnexus -80 tbolt) At the same time it wasnt that long when the tbolt was considered a dud cuz of its problems. I am hoping the Nexus is able to see a true fix for its reception problems because this is obviously a concern and an issue for many. This is not to bash the Nexus cuz I love the device just like the rest of the poeple who waited all this time for it. We just need it to be consistent. But again, hopefully vzw, google, and samsung is able to get this fixed right.

I had pretty bad signal at first too, but the last two days I haven't lost it at all. However, if yours is doing this I wait it out a bit, try a different Nexus phone, or just return it. As much as I loveeee this phone, I couldn't live with that. Hope it gets fixed/sorted out man.

Biased? Did you read what the OP said? He's one of the people having issues with their Nexus. One could infer that he was asking for the opinions of other individuals in the same position i.e. those of us that have the same problem. Your opinion is the one that would make any results biased because the OP isn't asking YOU. Would you value the opinions of the Muslim individual if you were conducting a poll as to whether or not you should serve ham for Christmas? (*Note* This comment is not meant to be disrespectful or bigoted in any way but to show the importance of having a clearly defined subset of a population for survey sampling)

Thats what I did. Because I paid full retail I dod not want to be stuck with it in case the issue could not be resolved. So I returned my nexus and had the money credited to my account. Ima sit and watch and if the issue gets fixed ill gladly pick it up again because I loved my nexus. At the same time if it turns out to be a serious flaw I dont want to be stuck with it.

Exactly. I have multiple other phones I can use. There is no sense in me being out money when I can simply wait a month and see if a viable fix has been implemented. No need to be intentionally fiscally irresponsible when I can go buy the Walther PPS i've been wanting

What area are you guys in that you are having these issues? Like many (most?) people, I'm having absolutely zero data/connectivity issues. In fact, it's borderline ridiculous fast every I've been, and I'm getting reception now in places I've never gotten reception in before.

Are you guys in rural areas? I'm genuinely curious because if I travel to those areas I'll keep an eye out.

This is an Internet forum, a discussion between users. I don't see how the previous posts didn't contribute to the thread. The thread was created to find other people's opinions and some people just don't have a signal issue, if you can't deal with that just take the phone back or complain to Verizon. . This thread won't fix your issue nor make it worse.
