Stupid apps. I hate starting over. I had a year to get this phone all set up, nice and cozy, a place for everything and everything in its place. Now back to ground zero.:icon_rolleyes:
Sam, I also made the move from .232 up to .246 a couple of nights ago while I was out of town on a business trip. I used the HoB, I think it was 6.7, and the process was flawless for me.
Thank you for your work on the HoB. I am now rocking .246 and it is awesome!
What if Motorola discovers we've been stealing their builds off of cheesecake and they put 248 on a completely different server thats more secured/hidden?
Even if it were to happen, which it probably won't, then someone would find the OTA and we would all just be peachy keen! Yes i said "peachy keen" been one of those days. lol
YES just baught the demo bionic at the local vz store that they were selling....246 and 1.2ghz on this one. Now I can keep my old 1ghz stuck bionic for backup
So if the OTA release comes out, how do we confirm that it will be 246 and not 248? Because none of you did the OTA so you cant check for certain that the OTA release really IS 246. You have to find someone who got ICS the regular way and have them check what build it is to confirm for sure that the 246 leak is the final version
True, it is a leap of faith and a scary one. Thus far though we have yet to run into a build we couldn't get of phones onto. If 248 comes out, one of us will get the file and we'll get it onto our phones - simple as that. I am placing faith in the community here that if any tricky moves are pulled that we'll find a means to beat it.
Though thus far Punit's actions thus far indicates that he would not have Motorola do such a thing either. If you remember, it was Motorola under him that first pushed VZW to allow bootloaders to be unlocked - so in that I am guessing he has at least a tacit embrace of this community.
Sarge, do we know anything about Motorola unlocking bootloaders on old devices yet? I know they've worked hard to secure future ones.
Otter box my friend otter box i work construction an i have smashed, drop it from an excess of 30 feet an dropped in concrete an god knows what else an the phone is still pristine the otter box case well that's an other story
I'm back at my computer. I'm reading up on the 10+ pages since I was gone. I'm starting fresh, with no RSD on my computer at all. I'm following the HoB AND FAQ details VERY carefully, I promise!

Good luck. I just made the jump and can report a happy landing. Even with my lack o' skillz and my old Dell running Windows Vista...sshhh don't tell anybody.

I have a few questions before I go and do it, but I'm intimidated to ask as they have probably been answered in various spots in 200 page threads that I don't have time to sift through...
