What does clearing the cache partition do? o.o
Something similar to clearing your browser cache in a web browser. Cleans things up. And prevents issues when running a totally different OS than what you were running. 2.3 to 4.0.4 is a significant difference.

Just one thing that perplexes me is, why would they make this build (or any of the leaks for that matter) even installable if it's not meant to be released?
Is it for testing purposes? o:

Because we are not technically supposed to have it therefore no reason for them to make it uninstallable. Long live cheesecake.....well until the official ota comes out. Then it will be R.I.P. cheesecake :(

Install from sdcard complete! :B

Love watching that tiny random linux text fly down the screen. xDD

A cache wipe and a reboot and you're on your way. It will take a bit, so don't panic. It will also seem to stay on the M logo a bit longer the first time. Also, they changed the boot logo, it's a Motorola logo but doesn't say "Dual-Core" any more.

Congrats! Now as Dave said, purge your cache before rebooting.

The first reboot takes a looong time so be prepared

Did it! ^^

Now I'm at that black screen with that sexy dark-blue ICS-styled dialogue box that says "Android is upgrading."

Damn..... That blue box with the matching font makes me want to orgasm. xD

It IS meant to be released. All of these leaks are packaged up as OTA releases and put on the QA servers when Verizon needs to test them. The intent is that when Verizon approves them, they are already packaged up and ready for release. After all, part of the testing involves seeing how well the installer works. If the build is approves, the same exact file is copied over to the production server, and that is where your OTA comes from. In other words, the OTA of .246 that we should see in the next few weeks is the EXACT SAME FILE that you just installed. The MD5 will be identical. This is almost assured. The ONLY thing that is different is on the infrastructure end, the file gets moved to a different server.

You are now looking at a REAL Bionic. The Bionic on Gingerbread was a pathetic shadow of that the phone could have been, had it been able to launch with ICS.
