What gets me is there was no indication of any out of court agreements- they just plain dropped it. I hope there is another sleeve to have something up !

Google’s Motorola Unexpectedly Withdraws Its Latest ITC Complaint Against Apple | TechCrunch
Maybe the "new" Motorola has simply decided that they do not wish to stoop down to Apple's level. Or perhaps they were informed by legal counsel that they weren't likely to win in court. Whatever, it makes me mad when Apple pulls crap like they do, I don't want to see Moogle stoop to the same levels.

Basically, because we're not used to Motorola doing logical things. This build was designed to add a "JB readiness" patch to .246 and was supposed to be yet ANOTHER update. Instead they rolled it together and thus .247 was born. The difference is that Motorola is in control of this build, not Verizon. So it shouldn't really hold things up, and is a fast track to a Jellybean update.

The fast track is a good idea since they only have 6 months of support left

Well, I thought I saw 60 days somewhere as the expected timeframe (in general) of ICS->JB updates (not talking Moto specific here). Don't know why ANYONE would think a minor update would take 6 months. And I doubt they'd be incorporating a JB readiness patch if they weren't planning on a JB update.

Probably including carrier shenanigans in that time frame.

Sarge....I got a freaky deaky one for you. Someone going from 246 to 247 with HoB. RSD flashed good. Update was installing. Failed at LTE. WTF????

Moto should just take control of the build, then. Carrier shenanigans in the case of VZW is going to become pretty costly if they keep it up.

What I don't understand is why, after a certain amount of "shenanigans" Moto doesn't just push the update themselves. It would seem that if their branding is taking a beating due to someone else they would just put their foot down. I know I'm a newbie, but I don't get why they would allow this much drama.

So my Linux/Mac people....Good news, everyone. I can move you from 246 to 247 with the script I butcher.....er, put together and had my testers test for me. It's *BASIC* functionality. I MAY add root to it though before I post it. *ALL* this thing will do is flash the system and preinstall images from 905, the boot img from 247, and give you the steps to reboot into recovery to flash the update. You need to put the update on the sdcard yourself for now. This is the basic building block of a linux/mac HoB. It may or may not evolve over time. I just wanted to give the linux/mac users some love. I'll post it when I've cleaned it up a bit in the HoB thread. It'll be later tonight.

Good news everyone! I've invented a device that will make hear Professor Farnsworth's voice inside your head everything you read 'Good news everyone'!
