Wireless Moot

Okay here's what I think I understand after trying to catch up:

Motorola and Google chewed out Verizon about not releasing timely updates to us. Now, Motorola is going to be pushing the update, but because of the Atrix 2 we're not going to get the update for a while. And to my understanding, 247 isn't the final product, that they're going to be making another build because of battery life issues.

Anything you guys wanna correct or elaborate on?

So Punit Soni pretty much said right out that his "special plan" for the Bionic is a Q4 release. So in "new" Motospeak, a delay of an entire quarter is a "special plan".

Battery life issue was Atrix 2 I believe

No, we're pretty sure 247 is it. The battery issues were supposedly with the Atrix 2. But it went OTA anyways.

Do you have set CPU installed? What's your gov. ?

Again, I am BONE STOCK .247 - things like that do not change themselves, persist through a FDR, and then a total reflash. There is something wearing out inside my phone. At this point, i'm thinking a) RAM; b) Flash memory; or c) one of the CPU cores died.

I'm asking because I had one core with the stock hotplug gov. That didn't want to activate, as soon as I changed the gov. It came on and my score increased by 1100.

Yeah, I don't think that's really relevant in my case. Oddest thing is, on a whim I just decided to try it again. Score is right back up around 3,000 where it belongs. Odd.

Maybe it wasn't my phone at all, I just thought of something here. Perhaps one of the in-app ads that Quadrant was running during my benchmarking sessions yesterday was causing higher than normal CPU utilization? Maybe I should get the paid version and take the ads out of the equation.

When you run Quadrant > System Info, how many cores does it detect?

On a related topic: Punit Soni just posted an unusually detailed response in his Google+ thread about the Atrix 2 OTA. I figure this qualifies as semi-moot at least:

1. I think I mentioned the plan for Bionic. It will be released in Q4. We have most of the work done, but an upgrade is a partnership between multiple companies, and there are processes which are outside of our control (many of them to ensure you get a stable release). This makes giving exact dates difficult if not plain impossible.
2. We should have details of the rebate program soon and that should hopefully put to rest any speculation on who qualifies etc.
3. Finally, as you can see (hopefully), I am really trying hard to keep the communication lines open between us. Its not about commenting only on positive comments etc. We are just cautious to react to things where we are still gathering info, making decisions. We are going to commit to things very deliberately henceforth because when we do, we are going to make it happen no matter what. Atleast thats what the future will be like.
