you should be able to flash from Linux via a VM just need to make sure you allow the VM to have access to the HOST hardware.
I do it in reverse though, Ubuntu is my main OS and windows are in a VM.

Testing V4 now

Sweet. I just want to get Ubuntu installed tonight. I won't do anything else with it. But at least I'll have a system I can play with now. Thanks guys for checking my script.

So I keep telling myself I should just wait, I am happy on .246, and I thought for sure this would be the OTA, and then .247 comes along, and everyone says .247 is gonna be the OTA, but history shows we keep repeating this process, .242, .244, .246, etc all were 99% sure to be the OTA. Is there any reason I should stay on .246? Is it possible still that .246 could be the OTA still, or is that 100% out of the question? My right brain says do it do it upgrade so you can be most current, my left brain says, just be happy on .246 until the OTA comes out, and quit playing this stupid game, and just upgrade when the OTA comes out, and is just telling me to be leary of .247 (probably just being stupid). Oh decisions decisions.

Now re-installing the 247 update using the linux HoB script. I'm already like almost done with the whole process, literally. That was really fast, and it ran beautifully. I also liked how very detailed the instructions were.
Any dumbum should be able to do this no problem. ^^

Upgrade that beast, what's the worst that will happen? I'm pretty sure 246 can't be the ota now, why else would there be a 247.

I'm personally just hanging out now waiting for the note 2... I love my bionic but this is ridiculous.

Sent from my frozenly delicious bionic.

Thank you. So my functions worked? Neat. I wrote that **** blind. :D Meaning NO testing at all. I just threw it in the editor and hoped it'd work. LOL. Let me know if you can skip the root prompt ok once it's done. That's the part I'm most concerned with. (Unless you want to install root...up to you).

I completely Agree, Samuri does a great job!

Also Samuri I can grab a Mac Book at work tomorrow and test it on the MAC as well.

Upgrade. If, in the VERY unlikely chance, 246 becomes OTA, I can move you back to it.

Are u rooted?

Sent from my 1.404 ghz 3605 quadrant score ICS .246 DROID BIONIC

Yep, I'm rooted via the HoB. I've been making nandroid backups since my OG Droid days so I'm familiar with CWM and how it works.

Just installed the version SooCold posted -- it installs CWM v5.0.2.5 just like the Gingerbread bootstrap does. It's working though -- making a backup as I type this. Very strange.

So after a really stupid oversight on my part (that's what I get for trying to do it with my 6 month old in one arm), I've moved from 232 to 247.

Now just hoping for the November rumor to come true and telling the wife she needs to hold off a few weeks from upgrading her iphone4...

That's the one I have,It worked for me v5.0.2.5

That'd be great. I have no way to test the Mac side of it.
Will do I will let you know the results but I tend to lean on the side of it all just working and MAC's are mainly BSD under the hood.
Only thing that might but us in the butt is drivers for the android on a MAC. Apple does not like Android one little bit. There loss.

I'll also give the root option a go around and let you know how that goes as well.
What's the worst that can happen? I have HOB to make it right!

Done.
Also I was able to skip the root section as well, if that answers your question. (I generally don't like rooting/hacking my phone, I'll save that for my OG Droid ;D)
Like I mentioned before, this script is awesome. Couldn't have made it easier myself. xDD
