YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

So, the right-angle USB cable arrived today. I have tested it out, and though it isn't 100% perfect, it does allow you to charge and use the kickstand in landscape mode. Also, becuase it is a "left" angle, when I put the phone in portrait mode with the kickstand, the cable actually adds extra stability!

Sweet, glad that USB cable worked out.

Some of you are wrong about H-Boot, what it does is tells you a few things about the software on the HTC phones. Johnboy try powering the phone down when you have a spare time, then push volume down and then power button at the same time then release both buttons once it powers up.

What this does is tell you your radios and software information. Also other info, but can't get into that right at the moment, depends on if johnboy feels like anwering questions on this part of the phone.

Mecha XD Ship S-ON
HBOOT 1.03.0000
MICROP-/
RADIO-1.15.00.0211w_3

I don't really want to do anything else then that, as it gives me bootloader options, etc, and since this isn't my phone, I don't want to brick it!

That's cool johnboy this info you provided is enough at what I was looking for. It tells me the phone doesn't have the newest radio firmware that HTC just put for the presumable battery problems and if there were others issues. Not that this bad thing just so that I not being took the wrong way. This info may be valuable to you johnboy if you decide to get the thunderbolt or any other HTC down the road?

And yes I understand a need to stop within this part of Hboot, basically just to sum a short notice Hboot is this is where your recovery and potential factory data reset is like on the motorola droid series. This also tells me that johnboy has a somewhat near ready phone that is not a early preproduction one like on other thunderbolts as others have commented on in the past!

One thing I do find intriguing is that as johnboy stated that is no HTC home/car panel. Wander why that is? Oh well thanks for all your insight and responses for this phone johnboy!

Yeah, I pretty much check daily for any software updates on the TBolt, and as of yet I have not seen any. I honestly believe all the issues are with the LTE network itself, not with the Thunderbolt, its radio(s), battery or software.

I would like to add my voice to the chorus of thank yous for your cooperation and the information you have provided.

I wanted to wait a while before asking a question so here goes.

Now that you've put the TB through its paces and then some accommodating our numerous requests, without getting specific, have you encountered anything that would give you pause before buying this phone?

I'm simply looking for your POV as a consumer, not as a TB expert.

Thanks again.

here is the lastest radio I've seen johnboy is: [ROM]Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.12.605.6_Radio_1.16.00.0223r_N V_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release ?!!

That would be my speculation as well.

I wouldn't say that I have any concerns with the TBolt itself, except maybe getting HTCSense.com working with it (which isn't a deal breaker for me, but may give others pause). My issues as a consumer would be more with the LTE "stuff" namely data and feature pricing for the LTE-related items.

I have not seen an overabundence of issues with the hardware or software on the phone... only 1 App Force Close, no "out of the blue" reboots (which my DX has done), signal strength seems fine, audio quality is good.

Well, sad to say that I may have to give the phone back sooner than 30 days... just got off the phone with my VZW rep. and was told that she may need it back in a week or two. I have a meeting with her on the 21st, so my guess is at that point she will want it back. Keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that it is out on the 17th, but no matter what, I will will be waiting until it is released to get it...patiently!

I am new to all this, but would they release a phone with test phones still out?

This could mean we might be seeing it on the 24h, I am just tired of waiting though.

Could be the phone is being delayed longer, or a major update is forcing a recall. No point in a demo unit if not accurate to what will release.

Either case seems not good for a 3/17 release, but at least a FW update means still a chance before about mid April.

Thank you. I was hoping for that kind of answer since I have the DX and am fortunate to live in an LTE area.

I can upgrade on 3/23 and I wasn't looking forward to waiting for a couple of weeks (I KNOW, I KNOW. 2 weeks is minor compared to other's waits) to see how the TB performed in the real world. Your work has allowed me to feel more comfortable about taking the plunge earlier.

You can probably take the plunge the day after your upgrade:
