YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

So with this information we have now, who thinks the TB is worth it?
Will you be getting the phone on (hopefully) the 17th, or waiting on a dual core?

Good question... I know how I feel about it, but what are others thinking? (No, I'm not looking for a urinating contest, just honest thoughts, concerns, likes, dislikes, etc.

:yeahbaby01:
I will be picking one up, finally decided.

Honestly, I like everything about the device.
This will be my first "true" smartphone, so I could just be nieve.
I am a tech geek however, so I like to think I learn quickly.

I am not at all concerned with 4G, since I don't have it yet.
I would have liked to seen 1080p recording, and the resolution could have been better for the screen.

Dual core would have been nice, but its not a deal breaker.
I understand its new tech, but the only use I see for it is gaming on your phone.
If I want to play Zelda/etc I have a handheld console/regular console for that.

WOB...do you happen to have any pics of the phone with the left angle charger plugged in? I have heard that there will also be a home dock, but your solution is much cheaper. I remember you saying it wasn't perfect, but I wanted to weigh the drawbacks. I know its a pain the the butt, if you get the chance, I would really appreciate it.

Here you go... three shots, two in landscape.

Wow! You can tell how sweet that display is just from a picture! Looks like it may be a bit wider than the X no?

If it is, maybe only 1/8 inch at most. Its is shorter though the actual screen size is not. Also, the rounded sides/back make it feel smaller than the X.

I know you mentioned you turned down the brightness on the phone to like 20 percent, right?

In those pictures, is it turned down?

resting the phone on the cable can't be good for the charging port over time. plus having it tilted like that isn't a convenient viewing angle unless you're drunk. :) fortunately i have a generic dock i can use until HTC puts one out or seidio makes one compatible with/without their case.

At least charging it in portrait mode works like a charm!

Hey, does that battery widget say only 4hrs 15 mins left at 88%? Yikes!

That is completely my fault... I installed the "Battery Left" app, which is really nice but requires you to completely discharge the phone and then charge it back to 100%. Well, I didn't think about the consequences and in order to get it to discharge, I put the screen on 100% brightness, turned on Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and then looped a video. (It basically discharged the phone in a matter of 5 hours.) Now the widget believes that it will discharge at that pace all the time... I can tell you that the widget shows 4:15 left, but it would honestly last twice that. It always shows :20 left at like 3%, while the phone's battery meter (stock) will show 30% and lasts 3hrs.

I just uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. It now shows 80% and says "inaccurate," so I will allow it to properly calibrate with my current and correct settings/use.

Sorry if this gave you all a lump in your throat, but it was my fault, I swear!

Think McFly, think!

WorldOfJohnboy,

Been reading this thread for a while...such a great source of info.

Have you been using a case with the phone? If not (or even if so), what's your impression of the material on the back of the phone? Does it scratch or scuff easily?

I'm not sure what kind of case I want to get yet, and I'm hoping I can use it for a little bit while I decide. What do you think?

Thanks!

Wimax is irrelevant. All it shares in common with LTE is a marketing skin that it is the fourth generation of data transport technology for the carrier.

Links to AC posts? He has said they will have worse life, or used them and found that they actually do? Details where?

Try looking for him yourself. You can try black_man_x or the Mobile Panda. He has a twitter account and a blog site. Otherwise do a search on AC forums or on adroid forums. I spent half an hour the other night picking out twitter posts about the 4G toggle widget & some people seemed to think it was worhtless. I'm not going to waste my time doing it again.

I don't think anybody thought it was worthless. I posted a comment thanking you, than a mod deleted the part of your post with the url and deleted my post because it had the url in the quote.

So that's what it's like with the angled charger and it sitting on its kickstand..? That's not TOO horrible I guess. I wonder if they make a flatter angled USB charger..
