YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

Wimax is irrelevant. All it shares in common with LTE is a marketing skin that it is the fourth generation of data transport technology for the carrier.

Links to AC posts? He has said they will have worse life, or used them and found that they actually do? Details where?

Try looking for him yourself. You can try black_man_x or the Mobile Panda. He has a twitter account and a blog site. Otherwise do a search on AC forums or on adroid forums. I spent half an hour the other night picking out twitter posts about the 4G toggle widget & some people seemed to think it was worhtless. I'm not going to waste my time doing it again.

Thanks, I'm sorry you did all that and felt it was worthless. I appreciate your responses to my questions, and tolerating that my hostility is not toward you but toward the claims about LTE and battery that seem to so far be hearsay. If the other rumors are true, we'll have information overload by the weekend.

I'll also take this over to the battery life thread and stop hijacking johnboy's.

Just been a bad day here, didn't mean to snap. BMX had said on his twitter that off of 4G he was getting battery life similar to an Evo or an X, which is similar to what WOJB is reporting in here. He said anything will have bad battery life on 4G, & he has been using all of VZW's upcoming 4G phones. He is not strictly a tester, he's a network engineer & has these phones to test major issues (like connectivity, handoff, battery draw, etc.) while installing and setting up new LTE markets. I promise not to hijack this thread any further.:)

I'd tell you to use twiiter and ask BMX how his has one and yours doesn't, but he is off of twitter for lent. You could try him at his blog,

Blog links not permitted

. He has been using the Tbolt for at least 1-2 months so he should be able to tell you about it. I can also pm you his gmail account.
Sigh - Why does it matter?

Probably because LTE is a power hog. A lot of people will want the ability to turn off 4G and conserve battery life.
I get that Motty. I was just getting a bit tired of the JB says, BMX says routine. It doesn't really matter what unique features their devices have. We'll get what we get and that's all. :)

Tried the screen in the sunlight today, as we actually had some ;) Pumped up the brightness and I could see the screen well. The only issue was the enormous amount of glare with the shiny screen, but in that sense, there are few screens nowadays that look great and don't give off glare.

Hi JB,
Have you had the opportunity to check the TB display in bright sunlight or will we have to wait until those few days occur in July? :D

I think for some people the ability to turn off 4G could be a deal breaker. If like some are saying it has horrible battery life on 4G and you had no way to turn it off, you are stuck with 2-4 hours of battery life. Now if the device does have a way to increase that to say 8+ hours, that's something I'd want to find out before I drop a lot of money for it. Just being an informed consumer.

I have observed that battery life is a very subjective matter.
Take, for example, the engine illustration that many have used.
One driver goes 110 mph while the other goes 55. Same engine. Who gets the better gas mileage?
So much depends on the usage.
Just my opinion.

Yes, it can be subjective from person to person. But when one person is using 4G and getting 2-4 hours and that same person switches to 3G and gets Evo/X battery life, I'd say that shows pretty clearly that 4G uses more battery than 3G.

So with this information we have now, who thinks the TB is worth it?
Will you be getting the phone on (hopefully) the 17th, or waiting on a dual core?

I realize we should expect more battery use from LTE.
I'm just not ready to sign the "this has horrible battery life" petition until there is a larger study group or my personal experience.

I guess I just see the battery as half-full. lol

Good question... I know how I feel about it, but what are others thinking? (No, I'm not looking for a urinating contest, just honest thoughts, concerns, likes, dislikes, etc.

WOB...do you happen to have any pics of the phone with the left angle charger plugged in? I have heard that there will also be a home dock, but your solution is much cheaper. I remember you saying it wasn't perfect, but I wanted to weigh the drawbacks. I know its a pain the the butt, if you get the chance, I would really appreciate it.

Here you go... three shots, two in landscape.

Johnboy...you are pretty awesome for a Yankees fan. I probably would have given up on this forum after a couple hours. You are steady plugging away. I for one really appreciate all the info you have given us about the phone, and more importantly, you have been able to cure alot of my thunderbolt madness. Thank you. Now, after seeing the pics, I think I will go with your option, and try to find something to attach to it to tun along the bottom of the phone, just to keep it level. Maybe some black two sided tape....you have my gears spinning.
