z4Root - One Step Rooting for Many Android Devices!!

I clicked 'permanent root' on my droid 2 and the little circle in the middle is moving and at the bottom it says 'Running exploit in order to obtain root access...'

It's been doing this for over 10 minutes. I'm worried.

Kill all apps and that automatically takes back to the rooted screen and the phone reboots. That's worked for me. If not, kill all alas then restart your phone and try again. That will work!

Not sure if you found your answer yet (i havent read thru all the threads) but I have the same phone and was scared to root with z4root as well, but I went ahead and did it, the temp/root said it worked but really did nothing, finally after a few times I did the permanent root and everything ran smooth with option to unroot, happy I did way too easy !

Just rooted my D1 with z4root. I took a reboot but got it to work. I installed ROM Manager and Titanium Back-up.
My question is, do I need to keep z4Root on my Droid or can I uninstall it to free up some much needed space?

Thanks,

I'd keep it in case you need it. Move it to SD if its using too much memory. Plus, you can remove other stuff now! ;)

Should. The pro uses the same basic framework as the other phones, I believe. Worst that happens is it fails to root your phone.

This came from my brain by way of my finger and my phone. Don't ask where any of them have been. Especially the brain.

If i use this to root my droid X, does that mean i'll be able to go ahead and apply themes and other stuff right away?

thanks.

Yes, you can do all that once you are rooted.

So i should just go ahead and click permanently root? Sorry I'm new to this, what if I'd like to unroot?

And one more thing, how would I install themes if there is no SPRecovery or anything installed on the phone?

Thanks

Temporary root is only for devices that permanent root does not work on. Root is software only. It can be undone easily with z4root app in a matter of moments.
