rooted mine 3 days ago and worked gr8 the 1st time and even installed a new ROM by Squidly a lil while ago so I recommend doing both myself

are u on the D2? and is it system version 2.3.20? it should be since the update was released to everyone....if so yes you are good to go

Well damn, i buy a Droid X today, all happy and spunky after researching rooting and all it's goodness for days, and now this app-method of rooting gets removed from the market place the same day i buy my phone...dammit.

Any alternatives that are just as simple? I'm completely new to this and have never owned a smartphone before this.

Tried it on my stock D1 but all it does is reboot my phone. No superuser icon in the app drawer.

I am rooted the old fashioned way and tried to un-root with Z4. It says it is unrooted but it is not, so I am assuming that you have to root with it before it will be able to un-root your phone.

I am going to reverse the steps of rooting and see if I can un-root, then use this z4 to root and unroot just to see if it works.
